Following a year hiatus, Hottrax returns to make serious impact with ‘Eno Minimal’ from U.S. native DMS12. Veteran techno producer The Model is also onboard to remix delivering a high energy cut of futuristic electronica.

Label boss Jamie Jones rediscovered the original track explaining “I had it in a playlist in 2015 for ages and finally dropped it in my all night long session with Seth Troxler at The Warehouse Project. The place went crazy and Seth asked me “what the f**k is this?" I’ve since played it on some huge stages and it’s insane, no matter where I am it grabs people and slaps them into space.”

DMS12 is a DJ and producer from New York. The Model is a DJ and producer from Romania, founder and owner of the label Adult Central.

Kostas returns to Phobiq with the stomping &#8220;What U Need&#8221;, which makes heads turn with its rumbling low end and nostalgic vocal snippets. Adam Beyer’s Drumcode juggernaut attracts more fans and critical plaudits with each passing year. Holding firm on its future facing ethos, techno’s number one label presents a new volume in its acclaimed A-Sides series with 20 prime tracks to signify its 20th anniversary. 

Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. Enter the blue chip A-Sides series: a chance for the quality-obsessive label head to issue a collection of outstanding tracks that couldn’t fit in their regular EP release schedule. 

With an eye on future talent, as much as the label’s established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode’s multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional. 

Led by the stealth techno funk of ‘Nine of You’, Beyer’s deft collaboration with Mark Reeve, the compilation takes in exciting highlights from big guns such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Dustin Zahn, Bart Skils, Pleasurekraft, Luca Agnelli, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco and Gary Beck. 

The rich vein of form displayed by emerging techno talent is similarly given prime position. Rising DJ/producer Boxia makes his Drumcode debut, fresh from a well-received warm up set for the crew at the hugely successful Junction 2 festival in London, while the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano, Juan Sanchez, Ian O’Donovan and Timmo also drop fire, establishing their credentials as some of the most promising talent breaking through the ranks in 2016. 

Reinforcing the global scope of the label, artists such as The Junkies from Toronto and Layton Giordani from New York, prove techno is winning a place in the heart of the new generation of artists coming out of North America.

Label boss Sasha Carassi teams up with Ukrainian wonderkid Skober for two melodic slices of Techno. &#8220;Reborn&#8221; is up first, establishing the moody vibe with meticulously crafted atmospherics and Skober&#8217;s trademarked, looped-out vocals, all leading to an ominous breakdown. Synth domination continues on &#8220;Thema&#8221;, even as its approach is more stripped-down, allowing the evolving electronics to take center stage while the drums stomp away frantically.

Effenem return to phobiq with a full release, presenting four slices of futuristic Techno. The stomping title track kicks things off, boasting looped-out vocals and the most menacing of stabs. &#8220;Nyx&#8221; continues in the same vein, relying heavily on the riffs and acting as the perfect precursor to &#8220;Nortia&#8221; where we are treated to haunting synths but with a more stripped-down approach. Closing up, &#8220;Phyxis&#8221; pushes the melodic overtones even further, with sneaky electronics interlaced throughout the clever arrangement.

Tokyo's Drunken Kong are back with another slamming ep on Tronic! After their recent release on Octopus which has been supported heavily by Richie Hawtin amongst many others, we are proud to present you four nicely varied tracks that showcase their groovy techno.

The first part of Pig&Dan’s ‘Tunnel Vision’ EP lands in transcendent style. 

Since their debut on Drumcode in 2016 with ‘Mexico’, Pig&Dan have firmly established themselves as one of the label’s most vital acts. They’ve dropped four memorable EPs, including a standout four-tracker with Adam Beyer ‘Capsule’, all of which reinforced their uncompromising production standards.

‘Tunnel Vision I’ is this accomplished talent in full bloom and the first of a two-part EP series that will hit across March and April, 2020. Rather than release an album and potentially explore less dancefloor-orientated tangents, the pair opted to present eight tracks the represent their high-impact, euphoric take on techno. The cuts have done damage at events such as Warehouse Project, Drumcode Halloween and Dockyard Festival.

‘Slave to the Rhythm’ hits like a hypnotic steam train, led by crisp drumlines before a massive synth lead comes into view complemented by a muscular bassline. Trippy synths and a propulsive groove give ‘Tunnel Vision’ its bite. ‘Fracture’ marches forward with plenty of low-end technoid swagger, before a synapse-tickling riff delivers a peak-time hit. ‘Traces’ brings proceedings back to earth, creating an evocative technoscape fit for welcoming the dawn.
