Hello and welcome to the Armamentarium!

Welcome to the 5th floor! My name is Professor Engburg, a 6th generation human maschine who is here today to help you with all your needs. The 5th floor is one of our larger floors, hosting numerous caverns and carved-out rock of large caliber firing ranges. This is where we test our big guns for quality assurance and for training purposes. 150mm caliber and above, no exceptions! 

As we walk down to the Large Caliber Firing Range, you will notice that there are an numerous number of fusion generators situated around us. These clean-energy fusion generators and transformers help energize our Dub-Field, helping us shield our arcology complex, ammunition storage, vehicle hangars, and firing ranges from catastrophic failure. With this much ordnance beneath our feet, it behooves one to be extra careful!   Our DubField sonic shield generators, turned on all the time, help negate and absorb exothermic energy  from rounds, explosions, fire, gas, you name it! We've recently also designed, patented, and built a new SonicShield system, which can be mobilized in the field as a portable pack or a vehicular upgrade. 

At our ranges, you are perfectly safe under the directions of Range Safety Officers Sergeant Filtzpatrik and Sergeant Pagani. They are qualified to fire on every system that comes through here after it's been cleared by Research and Development: newly minted weapons, ex-sol armaments, and prohibitively dangerous weapons of mass destruction (with rail-gun and drone launching usually directed off planet in empty regions of space). They will assist you with your selection today; guests may even come and "push the button" so to speak! Wait until you've witnessed the earthshaking and god-fearing power of a Strobo-Scopic Mega Plasma energy caster; it will literally take you breath away. What? Oh it's perfectly safe, don't worry!

Down this hallway is the drill hall and barracks for the security complement in The Armamentarium. Composed of a mix of grizzled old veterans and eager young recruits, The Armamentarium believes in taking care of our own. Soldiers who have fought in the past in NAFS conflicts and in the present with the current invasion of ████████ are eligible to receive free room and board for a period of three years while recovering and training at our complex. In return, they serve the needs of The Armamentarium: duties such as repair and maintenance, cleaning of their quarters and the complex itself, hospitality services to guests, and serving as the foremost technologically-advanced security detachment in the entirety of the Sol System. With the threat of the ████████ still looming near, our vigilance and our generous hospitality pays off in the long run, as many members of our staff have become renown heroes and leaders in the annals of human history. 

What? Oh... don't worry, we are completely safe here. Our outer ring outposts are always manned; plus they'll have to get through several lines of defense: DubField sonic point-defense-systems, electro magnetic minefields, swaths of ground covered by our mortars, large caliber guns, mounted emplacements, battle-walker patrols (from our walker hangar on this floor), and a keen set of boots with fixed bayonets on the ground. The furthest the ██████ have ever gotten was our second out of our five lines of defense, thanks to the heroic efforts of General Baeyer and his grunts.

Now, if you'd continue this way, you will see that we also have the Operations Area and Residences, used temporarily by the many units and regiments who have stayed here in the past. If you'd look at the left, you'll see the walls adorned with plaques from different regiments: Fortress Europa's Techno Brigade as well as the NAFS Heavy Metal Battalion.

Stephan Hinz returns to Second State once again, painting the canvas of silence with his masterstroke of imposing drums and vicious hooks. 'Venom' is Hinz' latest offering and comprises four incredibly massive tunes which perfectly showcase his evolving sound of Techno's best in peak time pandemonium. 
The title track 'Venom' kicks off the EP with a devilish throbbing groove while mischievous organ stabs rise and fall generating an impeccable balance between tough and playful. 'Primal' follows up with a more devious style where relentless percussion and sinister synth stabs culminate into absolute debauchery. Switching gears, 'Out Of It’ shows Stephan twisting the track's elements into a grooving, up-beat tool with a contagious faction of ingredients that transform into a sublime trip suitable for a million situations. 
Clinching the EP is a venture into the ethereal: the aptly titled 'Shadowselves' takes a journey into the dramatic world of villainous sonics and surging tones creating a labyrinth of dense atmospherics before winding into a grand crescendo.

For his new EP, ‘Undercover', Items & Things co-founder Marc Houle jumps in his time machine and heads back in time. Destination Chicago, 1987, and a face to face with Master C&J exploring the mysterious power of plunging basslines and moody synths. On remix duties Berlin based Miro Pajic sneaks in charting a decidedly bleepier course while Bruno Pronsato delivers his signature 'romantic techno' sound.

There’s no way back and Marc launches the fist bars of ‘Undercover’ with just a bouncy kick and a vintage ‘house’ bassline. With reverb in full effect the drums and hi-hats find their own space and time. Then, if the synths that roll in aren’t mysterious enough for you, the pillow talk vocals will be. The end of each line, spoken with a certain sense of agitation, is covered by chords that ride, all night long. The revelation is for your imagination but you might not want to be ‘Under Covers’ with this guy.

Next up, Miro takes the dirty sheets and chucks them in the washing machine for a good old fashioned rinse and spin. This mix creeps along all bubbles, pops, tick tocks and rim shots. Snare rolls glide in and out of time only to snap back for a sub-bass drop or a little heavy breathing. What more can you ask for?

Bruno’s ‘Electric Blanket Dub’ warms things up quite nicely with its intricate, heady take on the original. Bringing a subtle balance to the three mixes with vaguely organic tones, natural rhythms and spontaneous drum fills, Mr. Pronsato comes through in full on a cold Berlin night. 
The final track, ‘Triple E’, is an underground goodie brandishing a relentless kick and enough swing to make Chancellor Merkel do the Jitterbug. Combine sharp snares, a muted bass warble and nonsensical vocal snips panning from side to side and you have the perfect late night jack track or pump priming party starter.

True to the ‘no rules’ vision laid out by Marc, Magda and Troy, this new edition of ‘Items & Things’ is weird and wonderful with more bounce to the ounce.

As the pandemic continues to put a halt on clubbing as we knew it, techno dons Pan-Pot have adapted their sound to suit these uncertain times. The dancefloor focus remains, but on their latest EP,  there’s a restraint and delicacy to the tracks that reveals yet another facet of the duo’s creativity, and innate understanding of what their fans want to hear right now. 
 
“Keid” builds slowly with rustling percussion, insistent tapping and a sneaky, smouldering bassline that bypasses the predictable massive drop for something moodier and more subtle. Exotic jungle sounds, tribal drums and cool bleeps open the atmospheric “Planet9”, which soon pivots towards a thrilling build and ravey arpeggios that sound ripe for dank basement clubs and open-air festivals alike. “Echoes from Epsilon” is probably the most unexpected track of the lot. Five and a half minutes of ambience is characterised by airy pads, windchime synths, and a transportative, meditative air that is light years away from Pan-Pot’s typical fare. 
 
At once timeless and completely of the moment, Keid is a surprising, refreshing release from the industry veterans that should both please old fans and win new ones.
