First coherent collection of original material. Includes samples of found audio and hacked found MIDI, rights unsecured, c. 2001-2002.

This was made over the course of a year near, and perhaps influenced by, the infamous date of September 11, 2001. Recently married, new home, a newborn son, and a job I was increasingly putting too much of myself into (.com era). Music was a way for me to grow as an artist, which I considered to be my true core.

Everything spun out of control. My depression would not subside and the stress of building a family and career without a sense of self was insurmountable. Lost the job. Went careening off to Michigan to chase a fantasy. Got divorced. And down the spiral I went.

This album was a light when there was no other. Something I could listen to and hope for a future as an artist. In the end, all that was left of the Helvetica Farm project was a single burned CD that I played in my car, or listened to on headphones. This is a rip from that CD, including a scratch that becomes more prominent towards the end. There is hope in there, if you look for it.

This track is a union of three different drafts found in the archive were composed between November 2023/2024 and February 2025. The initial piano part is totally improvised and freely inspired by the world of serial music.
The title of the work of the first part had already been conceived when I found the cover photo on the web which somehow refers to the concepts and contents of the track.
Following a brief description (not mine) of the contents of the photo: 

"It is 1966 when the reverend Ralph Hardy decided to take a photograph at the imposing staircase of the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, England.
At the time of the development of the roll, however, here is a strange figure resting on the handrail. The photo quickly becomes a source of great curiosity and the original negative is examined by several experts, including even some Kodak men, who, however, do nothing but ascertain their lack of manipulations.
To date, the shot is one of the most famous ghosts photographs. "
