aka "Civilizations on the Radio". Here are various slices from different radio sources including Japanese and Danish national radio, during the promotion of our Civilizations album.The interview heard is with Harvard/Tokyo uni multimedia guru Morley Robertson on J-Wave radio. The ending quote from our album is read out on an electronic music show in Rotterdam (the Dutch accent is great) ;-)

Intelligentsia on the Radio

Various outtakes from a Classical orchestral piece entitled "Starship Andromeda". This was created in Japan, next to a forest in Saitama, and was my first real attempt at classical music. It took about 3 months to create the final mix, which now features on the album CIVILIZATIONS. Little did I know that there was actually a real TV series being made, based on Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda starship, at the same time as I wrote this.

This is going way back to 1993 when the band had just started, and before "David Icke" was famous/infamous. After his surprising appearance on UK TV (aliens etc.) I wrote to him through his publisher and from the Isle of Wight he sent me a tape of his voice to use in our music. Herein this music you can hear what I did with it. The drums are pretty clunky because its from a basic Yamaha QY10. Its crude but the most enjoyable one we played at gigs at that time around London. That was also the time we were all dressed as mysterious aliens. Enjoy! :-D

Intelligentsia (composer Mirai, with Opera vocalist, Bronwen Stephens) combine layers of electronic sound with a soaring vocal range, and aim to re-animate the machine dominated world of electronica with a body of attention-grabbing work, designed for live performance. Their tracks explore how the amalgamation of organic vocal and synthetic sounds can be replicated on the stage to electrifying effect. Intelligentsia's prime directive is to bring together artists on the vanguard of innovative philosophy and positive future. With MIRAI at the helm in London & Tokyo, they have written soundtracks for Japanese video games and national TV and radio with music pressed to 250,000 + units. Intelligentsia's first gig was in Camden Palace (Koko), London, in 1991, and they have performed at over 50 live events worldwide, including the Interactive Live Show with electro pioneer Susumu Hirasawa (P-Model, Japan), The Future of Music (Denmark), Emotions (Belgium), the Alfa Centauri festival (Netherlands), and at the Yokohama Sports Stadium and Tocho Skyscraper in Japan.
