With its five track's varying bpms ranging between half-step 85, 120, 130 and straight 170, as a set piece it sits very comfortably in the discography of Interactive despite possessing that quaint eastern beauty that endears itself so much to me and many others. No more ever-present is that on the tracks in the mid range tempos. The semi euphoric 6am House vibes on 'Here We Are' still retain the uniquely filtered 'sound' that has become the hallmark of the label and it's artists. Less so on the more broken beats of 'When You Believe Pian' and this would probably be the least characteristic of the five were it not for the synthesised keys that play out over the top.
The title track is pretty much what you would expect off the back of the labels back catalogue with stuttering autonomic-esq beats and clicks underpinned by a low end, deep and in perfect contrasting harmony with the saccharine key led melody lines. For me though it was always going to be about N4m3's remix of Nuage's 'Don't Hide These Feelings'. A track first heard on the ever consistent BMTM podcast, I have been playing it periodically ever since. At times, even on repeat, like a besotted teenage girl with a new Justin Timberlake record. But therein lies its charm. The pitched down vocals ripped straight from the original smoothed over with less breaks and more synths just wash over you. An aural cleansing of sorts that expedites a exhalation of contentment when the cymbal roll introduces the main body of the tune off the intro. And then there's the drawing bass notes that tug the fx along the track. It's just one of those tunes that have everything perfectly balanced and proportioned to a most refreshing degree.
If you want to put your hands up in anticipation of your forthcoming outdoor musical endeavours, then this probably isn't the EP for you. But remember, what comes up must come down and when you need audio cuddle in a moment of quiet solitude, you could do a lot worse than this EP. So go and buy it! (Everyday Junglist)
