Value Judgements and Alienation

I did a sound art residency last year. I spent a month in a room with a large audio console, trying to figure out how to make it sing... I wanted to see if I could play Arvo Pärt's 'Fratres' using only console feedback and playing the faders. This is the end of residency performance from last December.

interceiving creates fluid, organic music that exists in the space between controllable and uncontrollable noise - coaxing musicality from brute electrical chaos.

Harnessing feedback from a variety of sources, interceiving finds beauty in audio malfunction. The music consists of improvised soundscapes, undulating analog textures, frenetic live drums and bold bass. No beat-making, sequencing or sampling is used. Interceiving is noise you can dance to.
