Fast-paced, precise and hard-hitting. All of these attributes perfectly describe the sound Alva has defined for herself and for which she has become infamous in Berlin and beyond. Her sets turn dead dancefloors into sweaty playgrounds, filled with gleeful dancers. In 2018, she joined forces with the ISMUS crew, throwing some of the most sought-after, intense parties in the city, hosted at the lovely old Griessmühle (RIP). When it comes to Berlin clubs, Alva has seen and played them all, from Tresor to About Blank and even Säule at Berghain. She also indulges in more underground events, such as illegal warehouse raves and activist events like "Wem gehört die Stadt?", where - mounted on a truck - she lead a procession of ecstatic dancers through the city, showing that Berlin belongs to the ravers and freaks.

Hailing from the southern underground scene, Jakob is a vital voice of the "From Another Mind" crew, renowned for his dynamic and eclectic sets. A recognizable figure in Southern Germany, he has been curating infamous underground raves in Mannheim for years, refining his craft and supporting a plethora of emerging talent. With roots in the infamous Gotec Club in Karlsruhe, Germany, Jakob's sound is a fusion of driving beats, warm analog sounds and powerful atmospheres, peaking in an electrifying and pulsating experience that captures his audience as well as the attention of many influential artists.

Jakobs contribution to the podcast series is a live-set recording of his latest closing at KALT Club in Strasbourg. He fuses hard-groove elements with rhythmic passages, showcasing his distinctive fusion of sound.

Bio
As a DJ on the ascendant, a crucial voice in Berlin nightlife, and an advocate for queer and marginalized actors in the scene, Alva’s attention is always focused outwards. Her observant nature is unfailingly evident, whether in the protective environment of her Calyx parties or when DJing around the world, cocooning rapt dancers within her signature fast-paced style, laced with driving hypnotism, exacting precision, thoughtful builds and intuitive responses.

While blurring the boundaries between CDJs and vinyl, Alva’s skill and dedication first caught the attention of crews and promoters in Berlin and beyond. In 2018 she was invited to join the infamous ISMUS collective, known for hosting some of the most intense and extended parties in the German capital; in the years since, she has played at demonstrations and DIY affairs alongside renowned queer club nights like Mala Junta in Berlin, Endurance in Copenhagen and FOLD in London, (UK), as well as every major nightspot in her hometown, including Säule at Berghain.

As she is poised to launch into her most in-demand moment yet, openness, diversity, and transformation, both within the booth and without the DJ booth, will continue to be the markers of Alva’s success.

The Vault Sessions resident plays a refined selection of styles, with a focus on hypnotic yet powerful Techno that showcases dominant percussion and draws inspiration from both old school and hard groove influences.

Her deep-rooted love and passion for music can be traced back to her parents, who organised electronic music events in Budapest during the 90s. Influenced by her parents’ musically driven upbringing, she ambitiously embarked on her career when she was a mere 18 years young.

Fast forward to the present day, Grace is currently at the forefront of the thriving scene in The Netherlands and is swiftly accelerating within the international circuit. She has been showcasing her craft at various renowned events around Europe with a jam packed 2023 schedule, playing at the likes of Awakenings, Vault Sessions, FUSE, Sziget Festival, RSO, Rotterdam Rave, Soenda Festival, Intercell and By the Creek, among others.

It didn’t take her long to take the next step within her career as she head towards her journey into production four years ago, which rapidly led to her track “Vermilion Empire” being released on Amelie Lens’ label, EXHALE in 2020 and her latest tracks being released on Voxnox, Deestricted, IMF and ANTIDOTE.
