Next up on the FMB Mixtape series is a mix from Berlin duo DJ Heartstring. As usual, we fired some questions over to find out a bit about the mix & what they’ve been up to recently…

In the past months touring has probably been the biggest part of our daily life. Even though it can be exhausting from time to time, playing all around Europe has been amazing. Apart from playing we have been using every chance we get to go to the studio to make music and process everything that has happened this year.

We recorded the mix at home. It is definitely a different feeling from playing at a club or a festival. But we still had a good time selecting tracks and making sure that we are happy with the result.

With this mix we wanted to showcase a different approach to our sound. We definitely play more Hardgroove and Tribal inspired music in this one, sprinkled with a healthy dose of unreleased material by us and our friends. The mix demonstrates pretty well what we sound like right now when we are playing – more ravey and more impulsive.

Over the past year, she has showcased her sound at various venues after starting her journey at Off The Grid in her hometown. For our 60th podcast, we have @SpacerWomann delivering a strobe-lit power-hour. Best known for her diverse and genre-fluid sets, the emerging Turkish artist confesses to spending countless hours in the record shops of Berlin and Amsterdam. Her mission: to craft a concise blend of acid, hard trance, and techno tailored specifically for this mix. Meticulously chosen old-school tracks intertwine with contemporary sounds and cosmic vibrations, while every slick transition keeps pushing the temperature higher and higher. What a thrill!

THELMA has become a hard-to-ignore name within the techno scene over the last few years.
One of her very first releases ‘TRACK ID’ racked up over a million streams in the early days of her production journey. This was soon followed by a multitude of Belfast shows, debuts across Europe and two tours in Australia, where most of her audience resides. 


With support from techno heavyweights VTSS, Skin On Skin, KETTAMA and Partiboi69 to name a few, THELMA earned herself a spot playing at England’s biggest festival: Creamfields. Shortly after, she made her Terminal V Festival debut along with a release for their label. 


The biggest turning point to date was marked by her debut EP with Steel City Dance Discs. The melting together of old school techno and Detroit electro influences earned her acclaim for her eclecticism. This defining release has propelled the artist as she now finds herself on the radar of many, granting her a key spot within the scene. There is no stopping with THELMA, with more exciting releases and another tour on the horizon for the end of 2024.
