AEON is kicking off 2023 with a well known family member returning to the camp: Vhyce. His first songs on the label, released in 2021 sky-rocketed his career. After one EP and several tracks being released on our “Lost Tapes & Versus” compilation, he’s back with a stunning 4- tracker EP, named Suspension of Disbelief.

Vhyce, known for his tracks to create subtle tension and tell stories with no words, has developed his sound a bit further with this EP; though without losing his remark. “The titles“, Vicente explains, “are respectively referring to the structural lateralization of the brain. The feeling of closure and the avoidance of logic in examining something impossible.”

Asymmetric Mind Shift is a song full of summer feel, which could be well needed in the rainy, snowy and cold days of winter. More housey than what we might be use to, but not less catchy this tune comes along, unfolding in a sparkling break with a classic M1 Piano- riff.

Epilogue is most probably the essence of how we would define Vhyce’ sound. Indie dance meets Roland Synths with a touch of progressive. This time, as a cherry on a cake, the main melody is being played by an E-guitar.

Suspension of Disbelief and its beat-less version Out of Disbelief are mixing organic and synthetic sounds, trying to evoke suspense. A hymn-like chord theme, mystic vocals and padsounds guide this track to become a perfect one for a set ending the night, while the sun comes up.

Cannibal Coconuts strike again! 

It sounds like a headline in a British tabloid or the title of an 80s trash horror movie, but those familiar with the Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene know exactly what’s going on here. Flying solo this time, inasmuch as Cannibal Coconuts is not a duo anymore, Angel Piña", also known as "Dubman F., brings to life “Above The End”, a three-original EP coming soon on the label he can call home: the Spanish powerhouse Espacio Cielo expertly curated by our dear friend master Parissior (SXDNS206/FREEDL043/BANDCAMP002).

Using old & new influences, Angel manages to deliver something completely different from his output as Dubman F, through which House and Minimal cuts are poured. Darkness allied with groove sets the mood of the Cannibal Coconuts’ sonority – and even alone he managed to keep this aura untouched.

Premiered here, “Stargate” hits hard when it comes to delivering cosmic vibes to the dance floor. Trippy and well-conceived, the theme develops its pizzazz via elegant arpeggios, progressive leads, pacing percussive elements, and a dynamic bassline. A must-have!

PREMIERE444 // Cannibal Coconuts - Stargate

Home for both rising and established artists, Paradiso Records opens its doors once again for the skilled Middlesbrough-based DJ and producer Sahar, whose third appearance on the respected British label, curated by REES, counts with an outstanding remix made with love by German virtuoso Dominik Marz.

Already the owner of a signature sonority despite his young age, Sahar is one of those kids who love to explore retro-infused soundscapes combined with House & Techno elements in his productions. The result is an interesting and rich concoction of flavours and aromas that pair perfectly with many different kinds of dance floors. Such outcome can be checked in his previous works on NEIN, Midnight People, Me Me Me, and of course, Paradiso, to which he is now back with his riveting “Magenta” EP.

Premiered here, “Dust”, the second track of the release, is a trippy and frolic cut which delivers a soothing but upbeat moment between the frenziness of the title track and the bliss of Dominik’s remix. Mellow synth layers and cheery percussive elements were brought together to give birth to a beautiful theme.

Fresh off the back of his most significant year to date, Dutch multi-disciplinary artist, @heycoloray, returns with ‘Branded Content’, his first single of 2023, which is set to land February 24th. The artist's productions have become known for his ability to merge acoustic and electronic sounds, the result of which consistently questions the possibilities of dance music. ‘Branded Content’ continues this approach, where the sounds of synth-pop and indie-dance merge to create euphoric results. When entering the studio, Coloray was influenced by the boundless energy that emits from his live shows and was determined to translate this into his recordings vocals were pushed to the front, whilst emphasis was placed upon the
raw drums and synth melodies, making for an explosive climax.

Coloray was also keen to make a statement with this single, allowing his love for songwriting to take centre stage. ‘Branded Content’ tells the tale of the world we live in today and pulls no punches. The artist
places key focus on the control that social media platforms and big tech companies have over our lives as well as the insufferable importance they hold to artists careers. Not only that, but the artist also highlights other issues such as uncontrollable consumerism, stating how the world has to wear the likes of Gucci, Prada, and Balenciaga to feel any kind of self worth. The track brings an ounce of realism for those that want to delve deep, whilst also offering insatiable groove fit to star on any main stage.

In the artist's own words on the thought process behind ‘Branded Content’, he states: “We're in a war for attention, with big brands and tech companies winning it from artists who don't have the same possibilities to be seen. What if I don't want to be a brand? What if I don't want to compete, but just be an artist? Can that be enough?”

After releasing throughout 2022 on DGTL records, Permanent Vacation and Atomnation, the artist now returns to his own imprint Intercept records. ‘Branded Content’ offers a first glimpse into Coloray’s next
big project and one that will see the artist ride a wave of momentum throughout the year. With each release Coloray solidifies his vision of becoming the genre bending, multidisciplinary artist of the future.
