Releasing Friday July 29th, we are extremely excited to announce another Redstone Press debut in the form of Glasgow local LWS. Lewis Williamson is at the stepping off point of a soon-to-be prolific production career, having drawn early support from the likes of Ben UFO , Elena Colombi and Surgeon to name a small few for releases past and forthcoming.

LWS has been working hard the last couple of years crafting a signature sound via his excellent label Matrice Records (https://matricerecordings.bandcamp.com/) and a previous release on Eyeangle Records. Aerosol firmly cements him as a producer to keep two ears and eyes on and each track is a perfect example of his skill on the dials and breadth of creative talent!

A shrill repetitive noise roused them in the early hours of the morning - like an air raid siren it cut through everything. Where it came from they didn't know, as far as they were aware there was nobody around for miles and miles - this was the middle of nowhere. Sleep was impossible now, though tiredness gripped every inch of them, they couldn't drift off for fear of the unknown. By the window they sat, squinting in the darkness, listening out for something moving in the bushes, but nothing appeared before day broke - had they dreamed it all?

As one half of the brains behind Scuffed Recordings and the curator of Definite Party Material, Ian DPM knows a thing or two about what constitutes a banging tune. Making his first forays into production himself a few years back with his Visions EP on Scuffed, he's since released a bunch of other EPs that teeter on the fringes of club music, fusing the likes of UKG, breakbeat, dancehall and techno. His next release comes via London-based music platform turned label Mantissa and is charged up with all the sonics you'd expect from him; weighty basslines, frenetic rhythms and crisp breakbeats.

Intercept welcomes Destrata with his debut EP for the label: Squib. Over three tracks, the Vancouver based artist shows you his take on UK influenced bass and techno.

The title track 'Squib' is Eli's first foray in 4x4 music and showcases his talent for energetic moves whilst still retaining a taste for detail. With a lead built out of a twisted vocal sample and a bass that's as grooving as it is chest pumping, it perfectly sets the tone for the EP.

'U4ia' is next up and is built around the idea to run all percussive hits through different colorful delays and reverbs. Gritty textured bass stabs act as a counterpoint to the heavy kick pattern. Combined with the ever shifting hi hats the track feels oddly tribal without stepping
into clichés.

'What Dreams Are Made Of' ends this banging EP, but delivers something different. Destrata forms a bridge between the current wave of mutant dancehall and higher tempo Latin American inspired club tracks. It showcases his feeling for off kilter rhythms and bass even more.

We couldn't be happier to have Destrata on the label, be sure to keep an eye out for what's to come

Brooklyn newcomer No Sir (@no_sir) joins the Faux Poly family with their new EP ‘Voyeur’, a release full of rich syncopated percussion and expressive soundscapes that document the artists’ evolving perspective on club spaces and home listening.

The record leans towards sub heavy broken beats, resulting in a confident contribution to the flourishing NYC Bass scene. Despite being based in Brooklyn, No Sir has already broken ground in Europe with singles on 3024 & W133.

“I started producing this EP at a really challenging moment last summer after I got a concussion that left me pretty much bed bound for a month. During this time I also quit drinking, so my relationship to music and going to clubs saw a complete overhaul. This EP is my attempt to find a space in between the hours spent at my quiet apartment and my return to these loud, dark spaces I see as another kind of home. The title track, Voyeur, was the first piece of music I made after the injury” - No Sir

As part of Pollination's second 'Open Culture: No Borders' volume, Yorkshire-born, London-based Kitsta delivers the track 'Tendrilla' as part of the 40-track compilation. The slow-paced but heavy weight cut takes you on a hypnotic, mind-melting realm while at the same time it caters dancefloors all over.

Open Culture: No Borders is a campaign demonstrating solidarity with refugees and asylum seekers, as an ongoing response to the UK government’s ‘Hostile Environment Policy’. The policy has involved a slew of regressive legislations, intended to create a deliberately challenging environment for migrants to settle. In the process, we are seeing cruel approaches to the treatment of refugees and asylum seekers, the use of provocative language intended to create division and the adaption of laws which offer protection of human rights for all.

Proceeds go to Safe Passage International, who support unaccompanied children seeking asylum to reunite safely with their families across Europe, and campaign for more accessible, safer routes.
