Picking up on the launch of Marie Montexier’s Paryìa label with a trippy EP by a.b.u.3.0.3., the second release comes from the Dublin based shooting star Small Crab.

The Skin & Blister founding member delivers three percussive breaky tracks that highlight a wide range of her musical influences. Combining smooth textures with tribal rhythms the ’Flowing with Honey’ EP perfectly rounds off with a bass heavy remix by London based producer Talik, who recently gained attention through highly acclaimed releases on 3024 and Intercept.

Following releases for 3024, Pressure Dome, Femme Culture & Pseudonym Records, @talik1's third EP for Intercept sees her hone her sound even further with two deeply sincere cuts 'Kundalini' and 'Home', the latter featuring incisive spoken word from The Slopes. 

Opener 'Kundalini' delves into its namesake energy, a form of yogic practice and expression focussed on movement and balance, literally translated from the original Sanskrit as 'coiled snake'. This sense of understated power emerges from a backbone of sparse rhythm and growling bass punctuated by assured percussion and subtle murmurs. Meanwhile, lyrical, synthetic melodies materialise and gesture towards this sense of introspective, cathartic motion. 

On the flip things get even deeper, 'Home' exemplifying Talik's penchant for pairing snarling sound design with sincere harmonies, sharpening her surreal, existential take on left-field bass. Accompanied by the lyrical dexterity of The Slopes, 'Home' interrogates loss, belonging, and companionship, a pensive reflection on our times and a perfect accompaniment to 'Kundalini'. 

Taken together, the two pieces further assert the potency and poignancy of Talik's sound, with The Slopes complementing and pushing her aesthetic vision even further forwards.

Premiere: Talik 'Gripping Dust'

After debuting on 3024 in July 2021 with "I See Faces in the Trees" on the label's first Artist Mentorship Compilation, we are very proud to present Talik's Firefly EP. 

On this record, the London-based producer explores and experiments with the twitchy, flickering movements of animals of the night, their behaviors perhaps analogous to our own in dark and loud rooms surrounded by strangers- alone but together.  Through four beautiful tracks we are shown a more energetic side of Talik's music, layered with the moods of her earlier work for Intercept, Pressure Dome and Control Freak.

Talik - Snake (3024-TAL1)

Her thoughts were bubbling, they ran wild and recklessly from subject to subject taking up brainspace. She looked through glass eyes, glazed and distant by what sat behind.

Wandering between the cars, the people, the noise. She was simply lost in her own little world, delighted and happy to be at a disconnect from it all. It was magic up here.

The rain was falling heavily, puddles were forming by the corners of the road. It would only get colder and wetter from here but meanwhile she felt warm.

Talik appears on a new compilation celebrating five years of Pressure Dome. Her track is excellent, deep and weaving. The label invites friends and family to contribute as they mark a special milestone.
