This release of Kaya Project’s Remix of Yes It’s You is the first in a series of remixes of Evan Fraser & Vir McCoy’s album Guardians that was released on Interchill Records in November 2020. The original vocal from Rising Appalachia’s Leah Song was made possible by Tina Malia bringing a mic far off the beaten track in Costa Rica for Leah to record on. It was the Spring of 2020…

Long time Interchill Records artist and collaborator Seb Taylor (Kaya Project) heard the finished track and stepped forward with a remix, keeping Leah’s beautiful spoken word front and centre and picking up on the acoustic global roots of the original.

Kaya Project is a tribal fusion of World Music & Electronica primarily built upon location recordings from exotic locations around the planet. The collective is spearheaded by U.K. based Producer / Multi Instrumentalist Seb Taylor, having released Fourteen Albums mostly on Canadian Label Interchill Records, with numerous appearances on Compilations such as Claude Challe’s 'Buddha Bar' Series & Six Degrees’ World Traveller series.

Encompassing original studio sessions & field recordings captured throughout Asia, North Africa & The Middle East, Kaya Project is truly a vibrant melting pot of influences.

Protocol is the first track on alucidnation's new album Aural Architecture - out September 24th on Interchill.

After two critically acclaimed album releases on Big Chill Recordings, alucidnation release their third LP 'Aural Architecture', on Interchill.

The new release encapsulates what Bruce Bickerton does best - which is to combine a melancholic yet positive spirit; music in a minor key that is reflective and has the ability to make the listener feel better.

Many of the tracks are piano driven; the tonal clarity and sustain focussing the listener on melody and composition.  As is usual, Bruce includes a couple of compositions featuring his own vocals, which personalizes the listening experience. Always warm and lush, there is a consistent and cohesive sound throughout the album that is kind on the ears.

The alucidnation sound is primarily analogue, utilising mostly live takes favouring a collection of old Roland synths. Bruce tends to shy away from computer plugins and fancy gimmickry - his production values favour soulful, melodic electronica.

When we first heard the album we just fell in love with it. Aural Architecture's roots are in the heyday of chilled electronica, this release fast forwards that vibe to the present day and points the way ahead.

Not content with just making the music, the limited edition digipak CD also features Bruce's artwork and photography. Being a self confessed control freak he also designed the whole package too.

Hvolf is the new album by Icelandic band Stereo Hypnosis, out on Canadian downtempo label Interchill October 8 2021 on limited cd. 
The tracks were recorded and mixed in Reykjavik in 2020. They have a distinct and refreshing edge, and arrangements that get quickly to the essence of each track.   The album speaks of Iceland’s rich natural world, beautiful open spaces, myth and mystery, long winters and patience, and an almost obsessive devotion to high quality audio.   There's a cinematic and epic quality to this music, and the band perform their material live. Hvolf is an album that reflects a people and a place, and clearly stands out from the noise.  Two digital only singles, Barur and Hvarf are accompanied by remixes from Hibernation and also Greg Hunter.

Father and son – Óskar Thorarensen  Pan Thorarensen and Thorkell Atlasson form the electronic trio Stereo Hypnosis.  
The trio was stabilized, between field recording and photo sessions in the remote island Flatey (2006).  They have an organic sound, serene and down tempo – electronic climbing the Icelandic unforgiving highlands.
Stereo Hypnosis has released seven albums, all of which have received excellent reviews, both in Iceland and abroad. Pan and Oskar, have combined over forty years of musical career in Iceland, and are well know and respected for their works.  For the past twelve years Stereo Hypnosis have been touring various countries around the Globe. They are also leading promoters in the Icelandic Electronic scene and founders of "Extreme Chill," an annual electronic music festival which has drawn both local and foreign electronic music enthusiasts into the amber embrace of Icelandic nature.
Þorkell has been involved in classical contemporary music and pop music from his young age. He has worked as a composer and electronic musician in  Rotterdam Holland and also he studied classical guitar. His works have been performed all around Europe and America.
Stereo Hypnosis has traveled and exhibited the art across the world, performing at multiple music festivals- and during these travels, they have bonded with countless musicians, visual artists, agents, reporters and event planners.

My personal favourite track on Desert Phase is Eye Of The Storm. It's got one hell of a hook to it, and it somehow draws evergy from the very fabric of the universe and throws down into an organic drum n' bass grinfest before retreating into a final section that is the sound of Shpongle being eaten for breakfast and spat out on the kitchen floor.

Liquid Stranger re-surfaces with a new album, Cryogenic Encounters, due for release January 2012. Never one to repeat himself and always up for a creative challenge, the Stranger brings us a fresh and distinctly analogue sound. Some aficionados may see a link to the early days of laid-back and chilled out IDM, others may just hear brilliantly produced and finely detailed dreamy electronic music. This album of deeper tunes has given the Stranger the freedom of long introductions, gentle builds and vast atmospheres. Some of the modular patches are particularly epic - there's some classic dual TB303 work - and it won't come as any surprise that here at Interchill we really appreciate the Stranger's formidable abilities in sound design, melody and arrangement. In this digital-only release, mastered by Vincent Villius [aka Aes Dana], all the right aural ingredients come together to make this sonic concoction something special to immerse oneself in over the quiet winter months. 

For all the fans of the Stranger's harder edge, you're encouraged to kick back and get into a mellower and more cinematic side to his musical persona. Rest assured, he'll be dropping the bass later in the fall with The Renegade Crusade, the much anticipated follow up to The Arcane Terrain.
