2024 has unarguably been a great year for Electro both with overall visibility for the public as well as with the sheer number of quality releases being put out over the year. With a newfound buzz surrounding my beloved genre, I'm hardly keeping up! I feel like It was a busy year both production-wise and promotion-wise for @DVSNME and @DarkScienceElectro respectively, however, I found some time to put together a mix of my personal favorite tracks from 2023. Genre-defiant, story-driven, and emotionally deep. 

Lena Rigel, the Amsterdam-based music producer and DJ, is on a mission to create profound energy exchanges through sonic experiences. Her original sound usually dances around vibrant distorted sequences, layered washy drums and harmonic vocals, while her sets go through an energetic blend of electro, bass, tech house, and breakbeat.

With a foundation in academic singing and pure love for electro, she introduces creations and performances as separate storylines. Lena embarked on a journey to explore the boundaries of electronic music as an independent artist with electro pop projects. 

Gradually shifting to faster realms of breaks, electro and experimental electronica, she released her tracks on V/As LochInn, Locked Radio and an EP “UV Protection'' with N0ll. N0ll is her standalone borderless label and a multidimensional research exploring the concept of non-places and the intersections of emotional contradictions.

As an e-music student at Conservatorium Haarlem, she is currently honing the art of life performances and working on a new genre-provoking EP.
