Cerulean is a year of work with tracks primarily based around the piano. I've always loved the piano and this was a very nice change of pace from my previous EP of epic trailer / video game inspired music.

This is a little more airy, ethereal, with a bit of a dark edge.

Melancholy but with times of happiness.
In the end, the chaos overtakes. The heartbeat becomes irregular and then stops.

Flashing Before My Eyes

A 2023 version of Plaintive Soul, which is almost five years old now. I wanted to make it less thin, a bit fuller, and added an additional cello.

Plaintive Soul

It's getting colder, therefore I felt I needed some more piano and something a little colder, more somber.

The poem at the beginning is where this piece gets its title - Winter Dusk by Sara Teasdale (1884 - 1933), an American lyrical poet whose major themes were love, nature's beauty, and death.

They say B flat minor is the key of depression, and perhaps suicide.
I've never composed in it before. I think I like it, and it's not as sad as they say. Maybe just a little, but a little bit of a dreamlike quality too.
