Muro is one of the brains behind Distressed Public, a Zurich based jack-of-all-trades collective, so naturally I knew who he was but only over the last year I got the know him for real and what a treat it has been to hang out with this marvel of a person. So when I finally got the chance to hear Muro dj I was impressed, how he was able to create a calm and laidback vibe while keeping the dancefloor busy. It felt to me like he found a sweet spot between being focused to a point whilst still being relaxed. His selection for our LOODcast-Series brings exactly that quality. Calm, dubby vibes run into airy acid-lines whilst dreamy soundscapes get grounded by crystal clear breakbeats. Thank you Muro.

  After several months of absence without me intervening on the airwaves of Lyl Radio, the time has come for a reunion with this 37th autumnal episode, the result of in-depth digging guided by constant passion and curiosity.

Schaufenster w/ Fred Und Luna - 17.08.23

Wolf Müller & Cass. arrived with their mini-album ‘The Sound Of Glades’ on International Feel in early summer. A beautiful record comprising of natural percussion and long languid journeys for laying in fields and staring at skies. Following the 12 inch route we took with Len Leise and CFCF, we asked both Jan & Cass. to remix one of the tracks and also choose a remixer for a third rework….

‘Glade Runner’ on the A side features a remix by Salon Des Amateurs resident Tolouse Low Trax. If there is one club in the world we’d like to go to right now its the Salon in Düsseldorf. A place where the beats rarely go over 110bpm and they understand the meaning of the word groove. Detlef Weinrich aka Low Trax is very much in this world. His mix arrives from a slightly different place. Wonky insect sounding synths and a perfect bump and ride. Not really much music out  there that sounds like this as it clearly comes from a place of experience and the music that he loves to play.

The B side is home to a version each by Wolf Müller and Cass. Müller’s Wind Version of ‘Aiolos’ takes the original sound of the forests to the beach. Ibiza via Germany. Cass. takes the same track to a more mellow zone to round things off with his trademark drones & drifting vocals, light percussion and flanged drums…

As we now rapidly drift through a rip current of convenience, pulled away from the past, we panic - glimpsing a time that we failed to learn from - one that can always re-shape a better way forward. Full Circle exists outside this flow, instead they build their faith on a future through reaching in and pulling out the forgotten, the overlooked and the inconvenient sounds. 

Their mission hasn’t changed since The Genesis of Full Circle, a mix that would establish the process of recognising a new context for these neglected aural bygones. 

For 10 years, @alexisletan and @joakimbouaziz have tried to preserve the future for us all - restructuring the past with a slower pace, turning the tide on some old mistakes and allowing us to connect to a hidden sound that Now - might take us all the way to Knowhere..

The 'Trip to Knowhere' is a new mission. Our sounds haven’t changed, but as this tide spits us back out on to an uncertain shore, our knowledge and ambitions realise the potential of a world where No can become the New Know, and it’s a place for us all to find. It could be infinite locations, where the dust from a Goa beach in '92 takes you beyond the covid highway to a beauty-fuel path, or just that imaginary journey liberating us with an elsewhere of possibilities. Out hear in Knowhere we are the patchwork harmonies, we are the fluorescent heros of an old trip. For now, Full Circle is a destination to Knowhere.
