South London has become an endless wellspring of creativity. Our very own Bradley Zero continues to make things happen with the vinyl-only debauchery of Rhythm Section, and just around the corner 22a Records are turning their penchant for half-slung beats and soul-flecked rhythms into a full blown movement. 

Henry Wu is a member of the latter making steadfast advances with his output. Rewind back to last February's delectable two-tracker for Natural Complexion and the back-to-back Jean Bassa cut for home stable 22a as evidence.

"Just Negotiate" is one of five groove-inducing jams from the Negotiate EP, housed by Alex Nut's HoTep imprint and out on February 16th. Powered by Simeon Jones' lush vocal sways, it teeters gracefully between the crevices of soul and synth-oozing funk. Groove on.

On the flip, Harrison BDP gets busy with Syclops style synth bass, floatation tank chords and shuffling percussion on "Decompression", before ManooZ goes ultra-deep on the dusty and woozy "Tinted Windows". PREMIERE: Jon Sable - Light Transportation Ft Kroba

From the twilight zone of Rhythm Section International comes a new label for 2017: INTERNATIONAL BLACK. This is the offshoot’s 3rd release this year and the machine shows no signs of slowing down.

Bradley Zero’s ear for new talent continues to pay off as we are introduced to yet another young pair of producers, Mallard & LT,  going by the name of ‘J DEEP’.

Mallard, a 19 yo Jazz student  who made a big splash with his debut RS INTL EP, ‘Verte’, returns with a track aimed more squarely at the dancefloor. Although hypnotic and ethereal, it packs a punch, with the arrangement and musicality belying Mallard’s musical training at Trinity College. 

On the flip side, Mallard joins forces with another promising producer who goes by the name ‘LT’ in their collaborational partnership known as J.Deep. Complex jazz chords swim around 909’s to create an elevating techno roller that climbs and climbs only to give way to sparse rave stabs and ecstatic snare patterns.

Tried and tested for the best part of a year, these are 2 serious jams, proven to cause dancefloor frenzy.

Run by Project Pablo, who delivers this gorgeous downbeat remix of lead track 'Agua Congas', the label has been a strong part of the Canadian wave of hazy house and blissed-out production. Paula Tape's EP is another solid addition to the family.

US Born, Marseille based house producer and DJ, Grant returns to Lobster Theremin, with a 9 track album brimming with warm, melodic, deep house cuts. Fantasy Blues drops November 29th via Lobster Theremin. 

Opener, Ephemeral Chase signals a cosmic journey, driven with four to the floor motive. Mind Space is spaced out, modern deep-house at it’s best. On the flip, Zarenzeit joins Grant on Amaranthine Profundity, while Finite Elements chugs into an ethereal, vocal cut. Manifest picks up the pace, note a welcome homage to London town. Previous collaborator, Dan Piu features on stripped-back roller, Boundless. Joining forces on Invisible Skills, Brooklyn based composer Emil Abramyan injects otherworldly influences to the album, followed by Melancholic wiggler, Lucent Eyes. The Road In Front Of Me rounds out the release on soulful, classic tip, with velvet vocals courtesy of Jenifa Mayanja.
