Booms and Claps started a year ago this week, and to celebrate our birthday we've teamed with Saturate Records to release the first installment of our BnC mix series. Bios and Zeke Beats absolutely blew us away with this mixtape. The selection is insane, the mixing is full of genius transitions and blends, and Zeke Beats' expert scratching over the top takes it all to another level. When we all listened for the first time, our BnC chat window filled with far more "OMG!!"'s than a group of grown men should ever utter.

"Infinite Content Loop" was written by Plastician with the intention of it serving as a monotonous and menacing backdrop to the feeling of dread that overcomes you every day knowing you need to get on social media and post some engaging content. The idea was not to create something particularly uplifting, but a constant tone of dread and pressure brought about by the never ending bass loop and dark atmospherics, backed by a building percussive section that brings the needed progression in a more subtle way.

In true Plastician style, it's designed to sit between many of the genres he spins in his own sets. Influences are pulled from UK Garage, Dubstep, Techno, Breaks and more, in order to create a DJ tool that serves as the glue between them. With a remix from UK music hero Zed Bias, this is a versatile release that we hope resonates with you.

Introducing a release from maestro FTRRLT @future_reality

FTRRLT traditionally focuses on jungle, garage, and dubstep, blended with various facets of electronica. A distinctive feature of the artist's sound is its vintage quality, reflecting the influence of the golden era of artcore/intelligent jungle and UK garage. Denis's music is multilayered – woven from jazz motifs, old-school R&B vocal samples, hypnotic atmospheres, organic percussion, and rich and skillful scratching, it possesses a sensual and melodic quality. The meticulously assembled rhythm section boasts a signature softness and, together with the voluminous bass, confidently maintains the groove. All this imbues FTRRLT's music with warmth and nostalgia. At the same time, the carefully crafted proportions of badboy intensity and funky rhythms prevent the groove from dissolving into the atmosphere. Incidentally, the dubstep number takes the mix's vibe to a more minimalist, dark, and iconic side.

We've been fans of FTRRLT's work since discovering him on SoundCloud in 2020. Denis's tracks have been a regular feature at our dances all these years. The mix precedes the release of FTRRLT's four-track album "WHATSGOINGONGUYS?!," which has been on hold for a while and will be available online on October 17th. You can already listen to a sampler of the release on SoundCloud and pre-order it at bandcamp, where we'll be exclusively releasing it this Friday, October 10th.
