Sapphist Eye is a Paris-based DJ and producer who blends new beat, indie, and techno into a unique soundscape that's both powerful and sensitive, merging dark and sunny tones. Her track "Exist Everywhere" was featured on the second compilation by Barbi(e)turix. Later that year, she released her first EP as a duo with Naominitel on the French label "Les Disques du Lobby", followed by her debut solo EP on Lumière Noire Records in 2024.

Panopticon w/Sapphist Eye - Before Midnight S2E04

This track was one of the last holdouts from April that I hadn't shared yet. Originally titled "Acid Rain (the Good Kind)," the music has always resonated with me, though the title never quite fit. I even uploaded a live studio jam of it, combining the track with Arturia and a Roland MC-101:

At that time, I was deeply exploring Arturia Acid V emulations, but I feel this piece leans more toward electro-funk dance than acid. It certainly had the potential to be on my "Pantheon Escape" album, but for some reason, it didn't make the final cut. I attribute that to being in the midst of a move and taking a critical look at my life and musical journey. Hence the new title, "Salient Reflections."

When I listen back to the creation of this jam, its best traits are the production, bass melody, and the rocking solo at the end, similar to the one found in "Sea vs Sky."

Salient Reflections

Shades Of Sound round off their year with founder @joemorris returning to the label with an original four track EP. A tale of two sides, Joe delivers two cuts for the dance and two tracks more experimental and downtempo in nature, showing off his love for both club and chilled occasions. 

Lead track Skydance leans into Joe's love of 90's deep house, rich in melody and swirling heavenly synth lines over punchy direct drums.

PREMIERE: Novaj & Louis Seigner - Mirage

This is part of the Parallel Tales Soundtrack, and features three characters from the story: Thaddeus Fletcher, Anatolio Corelli, and Luvio Sterling.

It started when Masha composed a bassline in Reason Compact, which Bruce Parsons added a classical section to about 36 seconds long, and then Masha added and expanded upon it to create first Thaddeus' song, then the other two.

We had a blast working on this with you, Bruce! Thanks for joining us!

Record store owner, DJ, producer, and digger extraordinaire @tomnoble comes to RNT with a superb edits EP of sought-after Caribbean and African sounds. The A side burns hot right out of the gate with the explosive and percussive Soca-disco pulse of They Came To New York, then settles into the laid back lilt of Zouk Pour Esa. On the flip, Disco Massamba is a wild ride of an Afro-disco burner and Parang-A-Teng brings it back to the Western hemisphere for some Latin-tinged funk from Barbados. Well worth it for the value of the original source material alone, this 12” is nothing short of dance floor destruction!
