@atikaaltar is a female DJ and producer from Singapore. She has been DJing for a total of 9 years and moved to Europe about a year ago during lockdown. Atika Altar is currently based in Warsaw, Poland.Her motivation behind being involved in music is simply the love for listening, collecting, playing and making it. It makes her feel good and therefore she has written to us that she can't imagine her life without it.
 
The idea behind this mix is playing some fast, interesting and wild tracks from her collection that she never got to play back in Singapore due to the scene's setting. The mix quickly evolves into a bundle of gloomy and hypnotizing, yet still unexpected sounds.

Some things in live are just meant to be. For example the party I`ve met @AtikaAltar IG: Interstellaria. I ve arrived to meet her as a new friend but it felt like  meeting an old friend. An emphatic human so as DJ. The warsaw based selector was hosting the party and opened the floor. Warm, bubbling sounds, very well selected, no randomness, pure bliss. First i never understood why this cute encounter happened - but why question a new fellow music friend in your life? 

Atika left me some polish chocolate and i was eating this amazing sugar bomb, daily a little piece,  listening to her well textured and well selected oldschoolish techno set she delivered a few weeks ago. I felt like dancing and moved around in my studio. The world is still turning, and I hope we can keep on riding this beautiful merry-go-round with all this amazing people surrounding us. Thanks Atika for this mix.

Gesellschaftliche Erwartung #30 // Atika Altar

Atika Altar has spent the last decade honing her DJ skills across South East Asia. Her potent mix of techno, acid, IDM, house and experimental characterises her sets as well as the parties she's thrown across the region with the likes of Nicola Kazimir, Son Kite-Minilogue and Marco Shuttle.

Now based in Poland, Atika's focus has shifted to production and her newest venture, Interstellaria: a label that mirrors her powerful and fearless approach to electronic music. 

Primarily launched as a platform to house her own output, the imprint will also serve as a space to share music from friends and favourites who are operating on the fringes of dance music. 

The first release is a compilation featuring music from herself, iconic UK electronic act Bandulu and mysterious producer HBSM, which gives a window into some of the sounds that make up Atika's musical world - in the case of this release, it's the diverse shades of techno.

To celebrate the freshly minted label we invited Atika to put together a mix of high octane techno, acid, breaks and more... This'll help shake off the cobwebs.

Hej! This is a live recording of my DJ set from Intonal Festival last weekend - An excerpt of opening Inkonst and playing in between live acts & bands at the small stage on Friday.

The synergy with everyone was so special, every moment surreal and I loved every second. Shoutout to Linus for the super tech support, Intonal team for all the amazing work & eternal thanks to Ulf for having me in the vision.
