Sonder is a profound and bizarre feeling. It is the realisation that everyone, everyone, is living a life as vivid, as beautiful, as complex as our own. 

The overwhelming knowledge of limitless experience can be daunting, as it reduces our existence to a ripple of consciousness in a sea. The mass of infinite individuality can be strenuous, as this feeling is not something that we are supposed to consider. There is no biological advantage to question our existence, and so it sits uneasily. We are walking a very narrow path amongst an infinite cascade of possibilities; it is easy to be overwhelmed. 
What does existence feel like to 8 billion people? It's easy to think that sonder comes only at the cost of your individuality, But there is also a profound peacefulness to be found in this feeling.

Liberating yourself from our cage of individuality, we can observe the world and feel genuinely connected. It is so easy to become obsessed with your life, feeding into our egos and delusions, that we forget that this life is just as difficult and complex and vivid as everyone else. Sonder establishes an understanding that the value of life comes from a wealth of experience, as this is the only currency that we truly share. 

A simple Buddhist meditation technique involves a form of grounding, whereby you sit and concentrate on your boy, then your surroundings, slowly expanding your awareness until you surpass the room, you’re in and expand (conceptually) into the wider universe, before grounding yourself again. If done properly, this meditation will obviously not allow you to see through walls or hear for hundreds of miles. It should, however, instigate a practise of observation that will creep into your daily life, allowing you to begin to see things in quieter detail, which is all that sonder really is. The understanding that there is infinite detail in the universe, and the more you notice, the richer your experience.  

Gareth has captured this juxtaposition beautifully within his mix. He poetically states, "it is ok not to feel unique. We are different in the same ways".
