Duality

Just picked up an Axe Fx II. I spent today just tweaking patches. I figured I'd bounce a little riff out and show ya what they sound like! Enjoy!

Sonar-Pre Production

I've been messing around with an 8 string at work for a while now. I decided to bring it home and do a little recording. Axe Fx II, Apogee Ensemble, yada yada yada... Didn't spend too much time on the mix, but hope you enjoy!


8 String Test

Picked up an Ibanez RGD2127z today and decided to record a quick clip. Also the first opportunity I've had to give the new Metal Machine EZX a go as well. I wanted to get something down before I swap the stock pickups out on the RGD and I'm actually presently surprised with them. Guitars are tracked with an Axe Fx II and there is no bass in the mix (because I'm lazy). Apologies for the wanky solo, I just decided to improv something real quick to hear the guitar in a lead context as well. Cheers!

Trying some new mixing techniques. Nothing fancy riff-wise. Working on achieving an overall clearer and heavier mix. Recorded with an Ibanez RGD 2127z and Axe Fx II.

Strictly 7 were awesome enough to leave me a guitar to test for a little, while we finalize details for my build. This clip is recorded with a prototype Solar7 guitar that was designed for the almighty Ola Englund. Bareknuckle Aftermaths, Axe Fx II, yada yada yada...

I re-recorded the same riff I used in my Axe Fx II clip for juxtaposition.

S7G Solar7 Jam

I received my custom 8 string guitar from local luthier Alan Hiebert of Blackwater Customs this week. Lot's on the go right now, so just a quick clip here. Swamp ash body, flamed maple top, maple neck, ebony board, hipshot bridge, BKP Aftermath calibrated set, 27" scale, sex. Recorded with the Axe Fx II in Logic 9.

BWC 8 String Test

Intervals are a progressive, instrumental powerhouse, hailing from Toronto, Ontario , Canada. With roots firmly planted in metal, and inspiration ranging from fusion to electronic, the four-piece wields a gripping sonic aesthetic. Energetic riffs, coupled with memorable melody take the listener through a myriad of moods and soundscapes.

With primary guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Aaron Marshall, and internet drumming sensation Anup Sastry (live drums for Jeff Loomis) at the helm, the two deliver an exciting perspective on modern melodic metal. Their focus being on challenging themselves technically, while maintaining memorable hooks to draw in any music fanatic.

The band released their debut EP, "The Space Between" in December, 2011, which saw critical acclaim in the online metal community. Fall 2012 will see the band release a follow-up EP entitled, "In Time", brimming with Intervals' brand of catchy melodic prog. Teaming with timeless, forward thinking music, Intervals are the soundtrack to the future.
