Electronic dance duo Adventure Club started as an unlikely side project. Montreal high school pals, Christian Srigley and Leighton James were busy with their hardcore emo pop-punk band, but after finding success with a dubstep remix of "Daisy" by American alternative-rock band Brand New, Adventure Club was born. 

I hung out with Leighton one crazy night backstage at a weird time in the band's history. His bandmate Christian had been sidelined by back surgery and Leighton was trucking along solo. The band had just released "Thunderclap"--a song that was a departure from their signature sound--female vocaled, heart-soothing dubstep. 

How did Christian's back injury effect his bro? Can I get Leighton to wear shoes? Which local Vancouver celebrity crashes our interview? Why has Leighton never missed a single Warped Tour? Which hardcore song gives Leighton the feels right now? What's the toughest part of being in a duo? How do the guys handle music disagreements and different tastes?
