Teedo Love

This week we feature another gem from Soweto, where some of the world’s most influential people come from. Her name is Noluthando Rotwane, otherwise known in the entertainment space as Teedo Love. 

Love is one of the talented and versatile DJs that have braced the Pink Thursdays stage. Her charisma and dancing nature are some of the attributes that have made her stand out in her career. Besides rocking the decks, this queen is a qualified Supply Chain Manager and an aspiring Film Producer and Director.

When asked where she draws her inspiration from, Rotwane explains that she’s truly inspired by Khanyi Mbau with how she has managed rebuild herself over the years and with her continuous resilience and fight she was able to be a power house again. The other person who inspires her is household brand and film maker, Mabatho Montsho, who is a story teller, with the positive narrative she pushes in her stories about black people and black love.

It seems staying positive and gratitude are the order of the day as Teedo confesses that “things could be worse, so I’m grateful for what I have”., and you already know we stan a grateful queen. 

So what does a woman so intriguing like to play you may ask, Reggae and Dancehall seem to have won Noluthando’s heart but she expresses that right next to them is hip-hop. “I have an extremely long list of favorite artists across different genres but at the top of my head now are Nasty C, Lila Ike, & Chronixx”. 

We asked Ms Teedo Love to share some insight and advise to any young girl who aspires to enter the entertainment or any professional space, and she had this to say “never doubt your dopeness, you are a DJ/vocalist/ rapper, and never refer to yourself as a “female” DJ/Artist because talent and skill isn’t gender bias. When you do your job you are just that... a professional or working towards being a professional. Do your best, keep your eyes on the price and block out the negative voices and energy.” ..and we couldn’t agree more.
