Reaching beyond the threshold of the meter, ‘Clipping’ represents my graduation of music production and audio mixing development. 

Through the EP I reflect on my progress and music journey. 
Starting with ‘silent and grey’, I express how I felt lost and alienated before engaging in music.
Following that alienation, I express my longing for a change in "waiting here for you".

After waiting to feel a calling or sense of direction, I instead started to chase my passions and drive into my creativity. However, these weren't without doubts, as I battled the idea of committing to music. This was internalised through the track 'chasing stars'.

With my new found belief and commitment. This then leads to a feeling of finally being at “home” and in my element, expressed in the trap banger 'I'm coming home'.

Now it's just a matter of not “turning off the fire” ,as the final track of the EP suggests, and continuing my creative journey...

The power of the internet!

Isn't it amazing how we can connect with total strangers from around the world. Well that's what happened a couple of months ago when a Danish Duo called 'Mince' approached me to do a remix of their single 'Superman'.

What started as a rough 18 month old idea turned into a clean and loud mix I've been striving for, whilst still maintaining the lofi vintage texture.

‘In The Red’ is an EDM project by Tristan Chan that is dedicated to creating unique nostalgic bass music through Juno 60 retro synth textures and distorted Future Bass drops.
