Hola mi amigos! Yes, we are back with our weekly exclusive DJ set that IS The Il Modo Progcast. Every Wednesday, we take our listeners to another red hot destination, and furnish them with a top class mix straight off the decks. 

Today we are in Argentina, and the home of an experienced and respected DJ/Producer. With releases on big labels, gigs at big events, and DJ slots next to the big names, we are delighted to have enrolled the unique talents of.... Nicolas Soria!

Nicolas Soria is a DJ & Producer from Rio Grande, Tierra del Fuego in Argentina. His career as a DJ began in 2010, and his career as a Producer in 2019. He has produced music for labels such as Amulanga, Dreamers, The Purr and Zenebona amongst others. 

Nicolas also has his own label called "Anoka" where he sources music from domestic and international artists, that is released every month. In the five years that he has been producing music, Nicolas has had the support of great DJs and local producers such as Hernan Cattaneo, Mariano Mellino, Fernando Ferreyra and Sebastian Busto, among others, while international artists like Shai T, Double Touch and RIGOONI have also found the time to put tracks from Anoka in to their DJ sets. You can find all of the music on his label on Spotify, Beatport and any music website. 

More recently, Nicolas was chosen as warm up host for uber-DJ Simòn Vuarambon at an all night, sold out rave in his homeland. For now though...

About Casnik:

Hailing from City Bell, La Plata, Nicolás Castillo, known by his stage name Casnik, has always had a profound connection with music. His journey began in childhood, drawing inspiration from iconic figures like Michael Jackson and exploring various musical genres through dance. This early exposure laid the foundation for his unique approach to music, which focuses on understanding and expressing different emotional states.

Casnik officially embarked on his DJ career in early 2018, driven by the desire to convey the powerful sensations music evokes within him and to create a magical connection with his audience through carefully selected melodies. His talent quickly garnered attention, and by 2019, he was sharing the stage with renowned national artists such as Elio Riso, Jay de Lys, Bodeler, Matias Sundblad, LeFrak, Cordoba, Super and many more. He performed in notable nightclubs across various cities, including San Pedro, Mercedes, Azul, Tandil, Olavarría, La Plata, Mar del Plata, Pinamar, and Monte Hermoso.

In 2020, Casnik's musical journey took a new turn as he delved into the realms of Progressive House and Melodic House. The following year, he expanded his horizons by moving to Tulum, where he performed in clubs across Playa del Carmen, Holbox, and Tulum. Here, he had the opportunity to share the lineup with international DJs like Pan-Pot, Roy Rosenfeld, Marcel Dettmann, Armen Miran, Sam Sure, Bora Uzer, DJ Vibe, Gux Gimenez, Adi Dassler, and Em Boss.

By the end of 2022, Casnik decided to focus on music production to deepen his musical knowledge. He took production classes with Andres Moris in 2023 and released his first tracks in 2024. His work has been signed by esteemed labels such as Future Avenue, AH Digital, Balkan Connection South America, Droid9, BC2, Anoka, The Purr, Dreamers, Cafe De Anatolia LAB, Symmetric Records, SLC-6 Music, and Noise In Harmony.

Casnik's dedication to his craft and his ability to create immersive musical experiences continue to make him a rising star in the progressive house scene. Definitely one to watch!

This single reflects the polished, clean and peaceful aspects of the label.
Slow pads and reverberations build up over a soft rhythm section, featuring sharp hats and shakers, while FM basses revolve underneath, creating a much desired motion, where notes start to shatter and turn into noise. 
On top, lies a beautiful, dream evoking lead synth, moving between layers of atmospheric overdubs. 

Imagine yourself walking through a forest, with crushing autumn leaves under your feet, watching the late afternoon sun infiltrate through the high pine leaves, creating a golden atmosphere and bathing in light your surroundings.
