Moonburger, was recorded in one session as a duet between Kyle on Hammond B3 and Evan on Drum Machine in a garage on Moorhead St, in Boulder CO. It was later edited by Kyle to include the dialogue to a film directed and produced by friend Merritt Crocker titled Moon Studios. Kyle had access to the dialogue when he worked with Merritt on effecting/mastering the audio of the film. This was then edited to create a remix of Merritt's film titled Moonburger.

Intirpritive Horse was formed in 2012 by Kyle Stersic and Evan Follmar. The band was created as an avant-garde/musique concrete side project to The People's Abstract, the band that Kyle and Evan were in together.

#Hearts began production in 2012, beginning with the intention of surrounding a recording of a typical Colorado conversation with suitable musical accompaniment to convey the distress with the mixture of good and bad qualities of the Colorado drug culture. It then grew to include compositions made by Evan and Kyle late in 2014. The album also includes many other recordings made between 2012-2014 of musicians Lige Williamson, Justin Avdek, and Ryan Fanelli.
