The Vortex Jams take place at the Studio Vortex housed in an airtight cave at the bottom of the sea.  The cave is the opening to the hollow core, deep earth, were the Encendents live.  Musicas are a tribe of Encendents and create sound to nourish deep earth.  Frequencies are life.  The Vortex Jams are all played in the moment by Musicas.  Refined ideas are generated by these Jams and used by the Musicas to create new compositions that further nourish deep earth.  You will notice a range of emotions as you listen to the Vortex Jams. Some people really like it.  Some worship it, in fact.  But, we don't claim any say in that.  People do what they do.  Other people think it's just meandering sonic bait that makes them uneasy.  And, we feel for them.  We do.  We want to provide a very safe sonic space for them so they are protected from that unexpected dissonant note.  But we can promise this.  It's like the movie Saw.  These people are already trapped - they just don't know.  But we want you to enjoy this piece of sonic majesty without the pomp and circumstance, the velvet, the gold.  Just  listen to it loud.  Real loud.  When you emerge, and venture into the world, you will be different.  You will notice it.  And that's good.

Hi. I am the guitarist and composer for my band, intodown and Hero Between Two Worlds.  It is with the help of very talented musicians that I am able to record, produce and present live, the music of intodown and HBTW.  I am very fortunate.

The latest record is Brave New World.  Thanks to the 170+ college radio stations that played, and continue to play, Brave New World. Influences.  Well, most influential would be the 13th Floor Elevators who I had the pleasure of sharing the stage.  Blues, psychedelic, surf, progressive, ambient, stoner, be-bop, classical guitar and some classic rock are influences.  Cream, Jimi, Gilmour, Dick Dale, Hollywood Fats, Miles and Theolonious are important influences.  Monet, Degas, Hopper are also influences.

What you hear on Soundcloud  are finished songs going to EP (Aliens, Mystere, etc.) and idea jams (Vortex Jams).  These improvisations are compositional tools.  It's usually 30+ minutes of raw emotion, in the moment expression of sonic energy and the transcending of cultural constraints.
