Frink is a DJ and producer who is soaked in the sound of the Balearic Isles, having grown up and made his name on Mallorca. 

Axis, his four track release on Sublease Music gives the world another chance to dive into his richly realized sound world. 

Axis, the title track is a slick deep house cut that weaves in some atmospheres of sunsets (and sunrises) over the med. 

Changes is a touch techier, building around a hypnotic groove and bubbling bassline. Various vocal snippets and melodies round out the sound to create a mesmerizing result. 

Kalerg is another excursion into the deep. Rolling and groovy, with subtle filtering and effects adding dynamics and tension.   

Rounding off the EP is Sami, building on the sound palette developed over the course of the EP and rolling out another slick, sexy cut for the deeper dancefloors.

Frink - Axis

Memory Remains boss Kirik joins forces with Miami’s Imbue for their collaborative ‘On Distance’ EP, comprised of four original cuts and hitting shelves in January 2024.

Kirik is a producer and DJ coming out of the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson who over the years has been steadily unveiling his take on contemporary house via the likes of EWax and his own numerous imprints Uzvar, Colors Of Crocus and Memory Remains where he returns here.

This time Kirik pairs up with the Miami based trio Imbue who add their dynamic instrumentation to the project through guitars, piano and synthesizer improvisation.

Opening the release is the jazzy funk infused ‘On Distance’, laid out across seven minutes with an amalgamation of guitar licks and looped hooks alongside plucked bass tones, strings and
organic rhythms combined to create a psychedelia tinged twist on House. 

‘All Right’ follows next and shifts gear into a more classic house feel, employing Latin percussion and wandering keys
alongside guitar melodies and soulful vocal chants.

Opening the flip-side is ‘Lovers’ with its acid bass groove, intricately intertwined synth stab sequences and crisp drums all underpinned by Imbue’s hypnotic musicality. 

‘Son Us On’ then rounds out the release, diving deeper into House courtesy of bumpy low-slung drums, airy synth chimes and plucked guitars merged together with an underlying dubbed out and subtly unfurling feel.

Ross Kiser steps up for Sublease Music with two new down-and-dirty tracks that reflect the maturing of his sound over the last few years. 

The US-based artist set out to make a darker, minimal EP highlighting synth work and textures to create groove and atmosphere, and succeeded completely.  

Catacombs is a deep and dark rolling joint that foregrounds intricate synths and sounds over drums and percussion. As Ross explains, “I wanted to create a sense of tension and release that not only worked in a groovy sense but also for the dancefloor. I chose and created sounds that in my ears had power and depth, and I’m super happy with the end result.” 

Next up is Differently which uses a similar sound palette but with a slightly more house-y result. Again Ross breaks down his thinking; “It has a slightly housier (deep) and groovier feel to it, featuring a more melodic bassline that is meant to get you moving. I love playing with vocals and so when I found the “hook” or the simple yet elegant “Differently” vocal stab, it immediately worked and sat nice in the mix”. 

Nürnberg based Markus Homm rounds off the EP with a stripped down and even deeper remix of Catacombs.
