Floating in the clouds
Waves of sound drown it out
Resurrection in the down

I'm so weary
Happy seems so far away
But still I try to keep it near me
All alone in this foxhole
Trying to dig my way out
But the abyss seems eminent now
I try and get above it
And drown it out with sound
But sometimes I get lost
When I'm running away
From rain clouds
This wet street
Has me slipping and sliding
And sliding past the people
From my past
That I once confided in
And here I go now
Come here and follow me down
Cause this is where
The real life lessons are found
Just hear me out
It's time to sink, swim, or drown
Just be careful
Of who's around you
And who you don't
In the crowd
All the messages are effortless
If you don't know what's in the text
Don't be following others
Until others have earned your respect
It's time to define
What I'm doing with my life

On my worst days
I try to forget uncertainty
And strive for a better me
As I unwrap this packaging
But I'm losing distance
May time be my greatest menace
And may this menace on my back
Earn himself a life sentence
There's no cure for the world
And those with mild convictions
I've said too few words
And now I'm sitting in a mental prison
Often reminiscent of the things
I've never done
But I guess it's really just one more thing
For me to think of
So let's talk roots
As I'm looking for something to do
Let's have a real discussion
About some real truths
And that the real truth
Is inability to see truth
Because the lies that define the system
Are the ones in which they choose to use
You and me
The ones who used to believe
But slowly found out
That the world is not what it should be
And so it seems
That this American dream
Is not really a dream
But an unjust fantasy
And now this fantasy
Is staring at me openly
As I'm laying in furnace now
And now it's standing over me
But I'll find my way
And slowly begin to take shape
A brighter day
Out of the down
My soul to take cause
