Hey ya'll! My name is Kiara but don’t be surprised if you hear a lot of people call me “Ki”. I’m a spunky little fireball born in Manhattan and raised in the Hackensack New Jersey, surrounded by a family of singers and musicians. 
Music has always been apart of my life in some way, shape, form, or fashion ever since I was born. Growing up my parents played everything from the old school’s Doo-Wap, Earth Wind and Fire and Aretha Franklin to the R&B era of Floetry and Jahiem. Carl Thomas’s “I Wish” and Kelly Price’s “You Should Have Told Me” are by secret all time favorites. Who really got me started in the direction of singing were my dad and my grandmother. They always took on that pleasure of singing to me or around me. My dad has always had a studio in his home for as long as I can remember. When I was around the age of 6 or 7 I recorded my first hook in that studio. It went, “Do you wanna take a ride wit me? Kick ya feet up in my Escalade?” I love that hook. Makes me smile every time I sing it.
 I looked for music everywhere. Whether it was popping my head in the in the studio at my aunts house where my uncle worked, or singing along while my dad recorded his songs at home or some karaoke in my aunts living room. I loved seeing how every song was made and put together, and I loved hearing my voice throw a microphone. I fell in love with the process of writing and recording and for a long time writing music was a secret of mine. Singing out loud or in front of people was not something that I did often. Only times I really sang were if I was alone and I always sing my heart out in the shower. I wasn’t always comfortable with my voice. A lot of times I would listen to other artist (ones who I thought other people found appealing) and try to imitate them. That changed though. The more I started to become more in touch with myself and who I was as a person, the more comfortable I became with writing. After that words just flowed out the top of my head like water. The more I started to love my voice the more I started to fall deeper and deeper in move with the world of music. 
Now I’m so deep in love that life doesn’t seem normal without the music. Nothing makes me happier. I’m in love with the trips to the studio, getting there and pulling out my mac book, listening to the sounds my producer makes from melodies I sing over them. I love the concepts and the songs I come up with. I love the process of recording lead vocals and then harmonies and adlibs after and I adore the finish product. I love music it’s an addiction I will never be able to break. A lot of people want to make it for the fame and the money. I want to make it because music will be apart of my life all day everyday. Music will be the reason why I eat and survive. And I can’t wait for that.
