"Moment of escape. I walk among pines twisted by the sea breeze, listening to the insects. The carcass of the cicadas stuck to the resin and the suffocating heat welcome me to a summer that will be long. Fighting against nature's response to anthropic erosion, I am ready, after a salty bath, to open the hammock and listen to this downtempo in the shade. The best moment of the day."

Lyon-based artist, Sanjib (@sanjib-4) always guides listeners into an authentic and richly textured world between ambient and dub-techno. Eager to share electronic music focused on emotions, he creates a universe dedicated to travel and introspection with his mixes. After several EP’s released on Oslated (@oslated) and Lett Records (@lett-records), Sanjib produced two albums "Lost Continent" and "Lost Planet" released on Huinali (@huinalidub) and Annulled (@annulled_music) during the pandemic period. These opus were an opportunity to explore new textures with a story guideline.

Jorge Eafhm gives here a lesson of elegance when it comes down to mixing melodies in the best sense of the word, blending them in a flowery, slightly nostalgic and deep, soulful tale. "I close my eyes inside a dark hangar. I wake up naked in the heart of a Greek island garden. I can hear a bee sucking nectar from the most spectacular flower I have ever seen. I get up and walk. I crash into a ramification of 4 rivers that connect in a sound spiral that hypnotizes. I sit the hours that become seconds. Meditation. The river feeds the trees on the bank. The smell of fruit salad is intoxicating. We carry eden. I open my eyes and continue into the hangar. It's over."

Hanyo van Oosterom (@sonofchi) aka Son of Chi started the ambient collective CHI in 1983. Jacobus Derwort, a musician friend with Hanyo was the first musician to join CHI. Together, they went to the magic rock “The Kallikatsou” on the island of Patmos, Greece. Here, Hanyo had stayed for months in a cave for some deep soul-searching. He heard CHI in the silence of the night like a message from out of space. Being together at the Kallikatsou they shaped the foundation of CHI, making handmade flutes from local bamboo and conducting field recordings of water, crickets, owls, goats, wind, etc. After several years of collaborations with musicians like Willem Cramer and Michel Banabila, they decided to start together the beautiful The Chi Factory with which released (with the help of Ario Farahani and his label Astral Industries - @astralindustries) some of the most beautiful records in the history of ambient music. Following the passing of group member J. Derwort in 2019, Hanyo van Oosterom’s legacy work brings about the next evolution of the Chi project: Son of Chi. The sound of Hanyo Oosterom unfurls lushly overgrown 4th world drones, voices, and field recordings, naturally drifting between time-slowing beats, FM radio interference, and languid instrumentation combining the western retro-futuristic point of view, the New Age, and the ancestral eastern tradition.
