Intumi Podcast 012 - Luba Lars

The track Code was born around 2015 from the collaboration between Sacha Ketterlin and DRVN. They explored, changed and complemented each other's musical universe, crafting techno that contains the essence of both their music. 
 
Sacha Ketterlin first met DRVN in Berlin in 2008 - when they went into the studio together two years later, a long lasting friendship as well as an eclectic musical process started.
 
With Code, both moved further towards a common ground, defined by the interacting playfulness and unpredictability of rhythms and riffs, while staying in the grid. Now they revisited Code, and gave it its final contour, keeping its mystic tone which grips the listener throughout the whole track. Both producer's styles shine individually, but the collaboration brings a unique spectrum of sound. 
 
Extending the idea of collaboration, the track also got revisited by different live artists. An On Bast transformed the track into an hymn to electronic music, bringing a fresh perspective to the original sound. The Berlin-based duo crouds reinterpreted Code into a complex beat-diving, showing their love for breaks and epic transitions.

Sacha Ketterlin Feat DRVN - Code (crouds Remix)

Kirchner & Benedict alias Daniel and Michael not only have a long love for techno but also a very long friendship.

They got to know each other back in 2009 and have been inseparable ever since. Then as now both are at home on the dance floors of Berlin. Musically, the two are rarely on the road as a duo, as it was originally purely an after-hour project. But both are hungry for more ...

Micha has been playing for 24 years, while Daniel has been playing since 2007. At the time, both of them still played vinyl and they liked to play it in extra length, so as sometimes a 16-hour set in the old Magdalena Garden. Meanwhile the medium has changed, but what remains is the shared energy and passion for techno. Their sets are characterized by driving and pumping bass, fast beginning but long transitions, sometimes gloomy, sometimes melodic, but always varied, intuitive and impulsive. Enjoy!

Intumi Podcast 014 - Kirchner & Benedict

Arne Kappen grew up in Berlin, surrounded by Techno culture, but regrettably oblivious to it for most of his life. His interest in electronic music sparked late but quickly grew into a veritable passion. It started through the detour of building a DJ controller that never worked. Skipping the whole idea of DJing Arne went straight to drum machines and synthesizers. His setup now contains modular and desktop synths. He started playing live as part of the duo Anoserica teaching himself music production whenever he could find the time. His motivation was always fed by a curiosity to understand audio technology, experiencing the music and its culture on the dancefloor, and by learning about its origins and evolution. Now, he feels, he is ready to contribute a part of his own.

The EP is permeated with the feeling of instability, thus the name "unstet" - German for "unsteady". The tracks are minimalistic, detailed electronic ventures inspired more by spurious personal sentiments than rigid concept. The title track Unstet is about the feeling of barely maintaining a stable direction during times of rushing changes. At the Mercy of a Stranger's Gaze reflects on the visceral feeling of only perceiving oneself through others. The Throws restlessly shifts focus, never really settling.

Forward-facing in rhythm and melody, the EP offers meticulously-produced techno tracks. Emphasizing a driven mood, a feeling of being rushed and approaching one's limits.

Originally from Alsace, France, MATT-E has been immersed in German club and rave culture since his teens, and with this inspiration he has built up an electronic universe behind the decks, from deep house to incisive techno and drum n' bass.

Kalvelage began as a decade-long musical journey through genres, styles, tempi, sounds, collaborations and gigs. Heavily influenced by first encounters of the Berlin techno scene in 2009/2010, Kalvelage brought his fascination for techno to Hamburg where he started to develop his own sound signature within the collective Stützpunkt. He states: „Most techno DJs start out either as producers - fascinated by electronic sounds, or as ravers - fascinated by the power of these sounds on the dance floor. I am most certainly one of the latter".

Intumi Podcast 008 - Loris D'Ettorre

We are excited to announce the first ever Intumi release, Anshan by crouds.

Produced during a residency in Shanghai in summer 2019, the EP deviates from the duo's previous releases and improvised livesets. The four tracks feature intricate rythmic patterns, forward pushing shifting drumgrooves and gritty sound design. Drawing inspiration from their immediate surroundings, their experience gained from playing livesets and a deliberately chosen set of tools, crouds crafted a concept EP to leave a unique mark.

Anshan is a place in our memory perceived so long ago, we are not quite sure ourselves if it ever existed the way we remember it. Led by nostalgia, inspired by a lost feeling. We did not find what we came here for so we started crafting to fill the void. Freed by restrictions, some of which we chose ourselves and others imposed on us by foreign powers. The result is a new place to withdraw our minds to. Soon to be coated by doubts of its existence again.

The EP includes three remixes by Berlin-based artists. JakoJako presents a fast-paced interpretation of You Talk The Talk. The track Overhowl gets revisited by Alternativ3 with a leftfield-oriented version, and by Sacha Ketterlin, who puts his dancefloor stamp on it.

Intumi Podcast 010 - Philbo

We are happy to present the Intumi Podcast 011 with a live set by Huellkurve recorded for the Digitalanalog Festival in October.

The Berlin based duo has its roots in electro-acoustic dance music as well as in stoner and kraut-rock. They are constantly on a sonic voyage, producing new sounds and tracks they then use as a frameworks for their live sets – arranging them differently and changing them on the fly. 
In 2019 they released their debut 12″ EP ‘huellkurve’ and became co-founders of the collective @sonicgroundberlin.

Enjoy this podcast which brings a nice balance between techno and electro, mixed with trance and house elements, flavored with a pinch of acid.
