From the sun-kissed and searing sounds of São Paulo, Brazil, to the rugged and bass-heavy rhythms of the UK, Parisian label Nehza Records teams up with Porto-based imprint XXIII, bringing together thirteen artists from South America, Europe and the UK to celebrate established and emerging talents repping the full spectrum of electronic music. On "NEHZA XXIII", label heads RONI [Nehza], NOIA and Torres [XXIII] highlight producers contributing to their local and international scenes, merging reggaeton, funk, Latin Tekno, breaks, bass, techno, house and everything in between. The result is a cocktail of spirited club and experimental beats.

GTEP04 excitingly welcomes german producer Kid Kun to Ghosttown Records. These three productions beautifully display Kid Kun´s personal take on modern, UK schooled techno hybridity. “Creep” introduces the listener to an industrial soundscape, spiced by eerie vocal chops. It’s undeniably dark, but powerfully driving energy continues to evolve with “Recharge” whose grimy claps fuse with thundering basslines. “Saturn”, finally, takes Kid Kuns sound to the faster paced realms where it hypnotically nods at DnB infused steppers. To round off the EP in style, Berlin based Cocktail Party Effect takes on “Creep” and transforms it into the ultimate uptempo roller. All through, a powerful display of high-end dancefloor-tools. GTEP04 is out 24th of May via Ghosttown Records.

Typeless returns for its 11th release, featuring the talents of Pluralist and Obake in a standout 2-track EP. Bristol-based Pluralist builds on a successful year by collaborating with the enigmatic Obake, a pseudonym for a renowned producer. Together, they deliver a cohesive release, merging their unique ideas into two powerful, club-ready tracks.

Starting off with ‘Giggle’, the track slowly introduces the complex rhythms that dominate this release, defining the sound of both producers. Fast-paced drums and broken beats surround the track, retaining our attention in all parts with its hypnotising elements and maintaining the established Typeless sound we all know.

‘Siren’ sets a sci-fi soundscape with its low, darker introduction. Delving into deeper tones, this track builds on the broken-beats heard throughout, but layers low-end atmospheric tones to maintain a steady, energetic vibe. A track that makes a welcome addition in the club, its depth provides a heavy mannered backdrop to build on.

Aloka is back on Typeless with a two-track release packed with intensity. This EP sees Aloka revisiting classic sounds while teaming up with Ben Prophet for a dynamic collaboration.

Yas Reven takes charge of the next release on Nerve Collect with her Sudden Mist EP. It features five tracks of avant-garde club music and comes with a 3Phaz remix.

Italian-born innovator Yas Reven is based in Milan and has a love of architecture that inspires how she structures her sophisticated sounds. As a dynamic DJ, she traverses a full spectrum from techno and bass music to breakbeat and has recently put out her first productions on Bristol-based label Hardline. After that EP turned plenty of heads, she now backs it up with more thrilling and hard-to-define club cuts.

The EP opens up with 'Sudden Mist', Reven's knack for expert percussive designs shines through as tin pot hits, splintered wood and metal throngs all pepper a loopy techno rhythm. It's intense yet serene, physical yet meditative. 'Etoy' keeps the pressure on with more intriguing sound designs, thumping bass and lurching techno loops that never stop evolving and keep you utterly locked in. 'Mad Drop' is a futuristic blend of whirring loops and twanging synth sounds over hammering broken beats that lead to dance floor takeoff.

'Trapped' is another collision of unusual percussion layered over tightly stacked beats with a ritualistic and tribal edge...  more
