It is our absolute pleasure to announce the first compilation on QEONE.

This wonderful collection of tracks is really unique as all pieces are based on one concept which is completely sound design oriented. The idea behind this release series is to have one material or substance which will then be interpreted by the artists. For this very first compilation we chose the material Wood.

In the end the artists will also reveal some specific techniques which they used for the production of each track to transform this project also into a skill sharing platform for followers to learn from and get inspired. It offers a great opportunity to get insight into various approaches to one topic.

Cafe de la Jungle produced a minimal influenced dancefloor tool ‚QMMF‘ which has a crystal clear yet organic sound aesthetic. The high wooden textures and tones give this piece an amazing tension which sucks the listener right into it.

‘WAR1209’ finds Ukrainian artist shjva inducing trance states across an album equal parts tripped-out and dubby. Spanning brooding lysergic visions and locked-in dance floor hypnosis, expect drowsily impressionistic soundscapes and darkly cinematic gear across the 9-track duration. Total sonic immersion for the oddballs and the freaks.

Terraforming uncharted alien terrain, tracks like ‘X-Side’ and ‘Upper Limit’ descend into sprawling, widescreen exploration. Fathomless landscapes serving as vessels for deep introspection. ‘Enigmatic’, on the other hand, opts for detail and precision-tooled dynamics while retaining that same wide-eyed sense of wonder. Where ‘Dragonfly’ offers fractal fuel for ceremony and ritual, ‘Cloudhopping’ and ‘Psy-Fi Alien Dub’ wade knee-deep through some dub techno murk. Saving the direct and tunnelling for last, 'Banshee' and 'Chrysalis' are like two sides of the same proggy coin; one ominous, the other more optimistic and utopian.

PREMIERE: shjva - Cloudhopping [Warning]

[HARMONY016]— Limping on Clouds is an EP born from an in-depth collaboration between @polygonia and @shoall. The A-side features one carefully curated track by each artist, while the B-side is a true symbiosis of their work, evolving from a single element or layer loop into a complete mix and arrangement that was gradually developed over time and distance.
 
Side A opens with Shoal's “Majola,” featuring layered breaks and a deep, slung bass, followed by Polygonia's “Repeat,” infused with kinetic energy, rhythmic elements, and euphonic vocal samples.

The synergistic B-side unfolds with a subtle, organic rhythm. “Pendulum” overflows with lush ambiance, creating an ethereal mood that pervades the record. The EP concludes on a downtempo note with the track “Limping on Clouds.”

Pajüh duo serves up new Dystopian Nonfiction EP on Berlin based label Indiskret.

Leon and Josh’s musical bond began in school and deepened through Berlin’s club scene. A night at Ritter Butzke sparked their journey, leading them to study audio engineering and build a studio in Schöneberg. Now part of INDISKRET BERLIN, they DJ, organise events and push electronic music’s boundaries through the music they make as Pajüh.

Shizo opens with lithe drums and minimal grooves. Synths bring sugary textures and eerie melodies keep things atmospheric. Old Wine is built on heavy drums and barbed with alien life forms and dramatic drum hits that make for a marching groove lit up with tender synth work. Final original Dystopian Nonfiction is another stark and atmospheric mix of rolling drums and epic synth work that brings cosmic energy.

PREMIERE | Pajüh - Old Wine [INDISKRET BERLIN Records]

This is an old school track of mine, made 20+ years ago, but it's got a bit of interest in recent years, with 95 folks currently waiting to buy the 12" on Discogs, and copies regularly traded. And it's for this track, the b-side!  The first pressing of the vinyl sold out in a few weeks, mostly by the legendary Billy, Tara and Derek at Abbey Discs, on Liffey Street in Dublin..

This is probably the 3rd or 4th track I ever produced, recorded in Clondalkin, Dublin, and the 1st that became a proper finished track that was listened to by someone other than me! It was released as a b-side to Tropea (listen to that here: https://soundcloud.com/the-newsical-professor/tropea-2003-radio-edit) on 12" and CD, and got quite a decent reception. The djs on the Firing Squad on 2FM, Ireland's national radio station, actually preferred it to the a-side. It's actually supposed to be spelt "Phunky Dub", which the cd single got correct, but the vinyl pressers printed "Funky Dub" on the release. I'm from Dublin, and it was produced in Dublin, and that's why I chose to include "Dub" within the title.

Music Software: Acid Pro, Soundforge, Cubase VST - fyi, the crazy compression was produced by squeezing everything through an Akai 8-track digital mixer. I love that sound!

Even a historical pandemic couldn't take summer hits away from our hearts. Exceptional circumstances means extraordinary compilation.

Worst Records' hall of fame welcomes new faces around the pool for a 13-stages enlightened drama. You'll meet again with the top 3 podium made of A Strange Wedding, Jacques Satre and Christian Coiffure, all rensponsible for our first three releases, building up a mesmerizing, out of season mental workout. Extending the dimension of trance towards Saint-Etienne, Del.Duc brings on a curious yet serene astral travel, and we can also count on the distant reinforcements from the Toulouse Gouffre Club crew with Jan Loup and her glitch spangled hazy dub from far futures and the new trance comer from Bordeaux, Lazuli.
Special friends are also gathering here, as Myako is sewing on thin fabric a vaporous dub in shades of grey, the one-and-only master touki Théo Muller delivers a cinematic remedy to confinement.
Liberation through hearing, it is, as borders explode with the presence of many : Yin Yang Audio in a transatlantic IDM/break jump, Forest on Stasys (aka Mental Resonance) and his tough shamanic dance, Clemens Friedrich slowing down all senses at once and JEANS, boss of Oracle Bones, speeding us up in the hyperloop.
Finally, as teamwork means a lot, we have given the pleasure to open this compilation to the four-headed Lausanne/Freiberg hydra 4POTR and their cryptic transdimensional message, and the honor of closing this pool party to the 404 trio gem from Candoblé with a fine piece of wonder.

Not exactly your usual summer compilation, nor the hits you could imagine, but surely the music you'll need under the hot sun of 2020.
