Coni is the alias of Nicolas Olier, a 23-year-old producer and DJ from Paris. As Coni, Nicolas focuses on producing 4/4 house and techno. To date he has solely released records via ClekClekBoom, a French label made up of French Fries, Aleqs Notal, NSDOS, Aethority, Jean Nipon, Ministre X & The Boo. Coni's records have gained support from the likes of L.I.E.S. boss Ron Morelli, who featured ‘My Secret Diving’ in his favourite tracks feature in The Guardian.

Last week Coni released his follow up 'Comfort Zone EP' via ClekClekBoom. To celebrate we invited Nicolas to record a mix and answer some questions about his new record, musical heritage and involvement with the ClekClekBoom collective. Nicolas also discusses his studio setup, approach to production and his experience of London.

Italians Do It Better Maestro Johnny Jewel opens with a stunning saxophone laced hymn to the moon cycles followed by David Lynch's musical partner Dean Hurley giving us a front seat view on a highway cruise straight into the Milky Way. Other highlights include Ramzi's intercepted radio beacon "Existenz", Legowelt's perilous planetwalk "Nebbia Vera Pelleccia" and a wave goodbye to the solar system in Lord Of The Isles "Meet Me At The Portal" . Released in two lucky dip colourways, Cosmosis also contains a secret DL digital only title track from Lord Of The Isles only available from QR code on record label. Join us on Saturday 16th August at Inverted Audio Record Store in Peckham for an all vinyl session from @verdant-recordings label boss Andy Green to celebrate the release of 'Rain on Window' from Istanbul-based producer @havantepe.   

Consisting of three solo tracks and two remixes, 'Rain on Window' blends minimal dub techno with atmospheric electronics, primed to enthral the most discerning of listeners.

The free to attend in-store event commences at 6pm and ends at 9pm. We’ll have copies of ‘Rain on Window’ on sale at the in-store, so be sure to join us for a dance!


Havantepe - Rain on Window [Vertex Recordings]

fka boursin is a DJ and producer out of Bristol, UK. 
Previously known as DJ Boursin, he is recognized for his deep, ambient-infused house music that explores political dimensions of clubs and identity politics.

Welcomed into the Scissor & Thread fold, fka boursin shares two cuts of deep and introspective electronic music. 

The original Listless Intertext is a hazy trip through ambient soundscapes, shuffling rhythms and half-caught conversations, drifting across a 12 minute run time that slowly evolves and shifts with time.  

"Listless Intertext is a track centred around the "failed" employment of cheap vocoder software that attempted to process explicit words and phrases across 11 minutes." says fka boursin. "Instead, the vocoder output made any words indecipherable and I was left with thematic vagueness. The final text of the track is simply a submission to its own limitations with some french thrown in."

When label bosses Frank & Tony step up for their Housebeat Dub, they keep the essential mood but introduce a thick, fat groove that works just as well in conveying the mood. 

"Our remix is a strictly dancefloor approach," says Frank, "an extended psychedelic beat rework perfect for late night, early morning vibes".

Intervals’ is the new record from Naarm-based musician and producer L Lewis out now on Bathtub Music. Blending jazz harmony, electronic production, and improvisation, the release expands on the sonic palette introduced in their debut. Built from live studio recordings in Naarm (Melbourne) with L Lewis, Lachlan Thompson, Finn Milne, and Jordan Dunster, the tracks were later chopped up in London by L Lewis.

The B side features remixes from local and international artists Space Ghost, Hector Plimmer, Joseph Shabason and Jonah Gabriel plus a bonus digital remix from Alex Albrecht.
