After a decade of admiration, we are ecstatic to invite Swedish production duo @shxcxchcxsh to contribute the 363rd edition of the IA MIX Series - delivering a brazen assault of the senses with a potent mix of white noise, wrought iron percussion, abstract sound design, rave and experimental techno. 

Having recently dropped their new album on @avian-music, we caught up with SHXCXCHCXSH to find out more about the makings of 'Kongestion' LP and attempt to decipher the chaos and mindset that inhabits their music and identity.

A permanent fixture of France’s 90s rave scene, Lyon-based DJ/Producer Umwelt knows a thing or two about making beats. His sound is both threatening and primal, something for clandestine warehouse nights stripped of the veneer of big budget publishings. He’s also a hardware freak at his core, and relishes vinyl, an approach that gives his music a raw physicality that speaks to our common nature. These alien transmissions of his get under your skin and make you move with their pure analog power, you’ll see this latest studio mix is no exception. Bassiani Podcast 136 also comes just in time for the July release of his new record on Dax J’s Monnom Black, so stick around for a breathtaking double dose of fearsome sonic chaos, a visceral dystopia from the French techno veteran.

We have a lot of artist's who inspired us to open Lethal Curse but there is one special duo called "Belief Defect" which had a huge impact on the idea of our label. It's also the first podcast ever made by them so we are trully honoured to be the vessel for it.

One of the most highly respected acts in both techno and industrial circles, Orphx have been developing their signature fusion of hypnotic rhythms and experimental noise for the past twenty four years. Using modular and analog synthesizers, software, location recordings and feedback circuits, Rich Oddie and Christina Sealey draw upon the darker, psychedelic fringes of electronic dance music and combine these elements with the experimental aesthetics and themes of early industrial music.

Orphx has gained an international following as one of the pioneering acts within the European ‘rhythmic noise’ scene and more recently came to prominence among techno fans through a series of acclaimed 12"s on Adam X’s Sonic Groove label, along with standout remixes for artists like Oscar Mulero, Perc, Drumcell, Svreca, and Conrad Schnitzler.

Oddie and Sealey have performed around the world at celebrated venues like Berghain and Tresor, and international festivals such as Atonal, Labyrinth, Movement, Mutek, and Unsound. They are renowned for delivering improvised performances that combine software with modular synthesizer and other hardware. 

Orphx have released numerous albums and singles on vinyl, CD, and cassette that have had a significant influence on many artists in the present wave of industrial techno. Their most recent album, Pitch Black Mirror, has received critical acclaim for its unique fusion of techno, industrial, EBM and post-punk elements. Building on a sprawling back catalogue that stretches across genre divisions, Orphx are both pioneers and innovators in the fusion of rhythm and noise.
