Andy Martin is back on Mole Audio this August with a dubbed-out single featuring the
legendary Lee Scratch Perry and remixes from Legowelt, Turmspringer and Nit Yardman.
Andy Martin has established himself as a vital element of the electronic scene in Mexico. The
Mexican Jamaican artist delivers a mixture of sci-fi oriented techno and Latin Caribbean traditions,
creating a futuristic sound influenced by the region. For this release, Mole Audio invite Lee Scratch
Perry from Jamaica to feature on the track, one of the pioneers and legends of Dub, the blueprint of
modern electronic music. He has worked and produced artists like Bob Marley, Adrian Sherwood,
The Beastie Boys, The Clash, The Orb, among others.
‘Revolution’ is a merger of past and future, a track featuring meditative sub frequencies, heaviness
And the powerful lyrics from Lee Scratch Perry formed into a modern electronic piece. A perfect
representation of our current world situation, taking back the people’s voice in the countercultural
movement.
Up next, Nit Yardman – an alter ego of Andy Martin explores a more classic dub concept of music
Using modern sound elements and tools in his version of ‘Revolution’ whilst one-of-a-kind Dutch
artist Legowelt aka Danny Wolfers, who effortlessly spans many different scenes and styles, add
cosmic synths, acid-drenched fx and euphoric pads in his remix.
To finish, German duo Turmspringer return to the imprint after their ‘Relevant Movement’ release
with rolling yet hypnotic drums, echoing soundscapes and exquisite leads.

Banoffee Pies Records 16th Original Series release comes via a 4 track
Split EP collaboration between Kincaid, and Zenzizenz, the ambient moniker of techno producer Viers. After a long year behind us, and likely ahead, this record takes a temporary step into the calm and adds reflection to the blurred months that passed.

The release is a collection of textural bumps and melodies opening with Kincaid’s 9 minute “Slow Stumble Home” - an aptly titled down tempo trip through a confused space, layered with composition, like a Playstation home screen theme on Mushrooms. Calm follows with two tracks from Zenzizenz - “Returning From Home”, a steady meditation through rumbling sounds soon shift to a new mood on the B side. “Falling Off” offers a more lethargic wandering through the marshland before BP016 comes to it’s close with “Single Cell”, the 2nd Kincaid track, which concludes with a chaptered 4x4 structure and slow bursts of energy. Livity Sound is proud to present a 12” of lean, refined club tracks from UK stalwart Beneath. The Mistry and No Symbols boss has spent the past 10 years exploring a sound which nods to the legacy of bleep techno, dubstep and UK funky while leaning forwards into its own distinctive space. 

His stripped-back blend of crisp drums, sprightly hooks and sub bass are instantly identifiable, but across four new tracks Beneath displays the versatility within his reach. Stomping four to-the-floor rollers on the A side face-off with minimalist dub and weighty, synth-rich expressions on the flip that move beyond the demands of the dancefloor.

Heavyweight odes to the UK hardcore continuum from Tallinn via Toronto label Surve Records. The collaborative project of Dima Disk is shaped by bass, breaks, metallic percussion and the kind of background synth washes found on early dubstep, UKG and Metalheadz records alike. With a clear penchant for the colder, more alien variety of 5am warehouse rollers than those on a soulful tip, the duo of Ragnar Rahuoja and Robert Nikolajev waste no time setting the tone for their first EP since 2017s Fetty on the in-house label of electronic music vanguards Rubadub.

Showing an evolution in both production and palette, Pahakas retains the concern for chest-rattling soundsystem pressure but advances on the slightly lo-fi sound design of the pairs last outing. The ‘Feel the sound’ sample clatters around razor sharp, 130bpm + breakbeats and a rolling sub that nods to golden era Peverelist on opening cut ‘U R A Gem’. On ‘Betty’ and ‘MLBT’ the more spacey, ambient end of the genre are given a look but retain the overall atmosphere of the EP whilst ‘2kSamba’ ups the tempo and leans toward a mutant hybrid of early 2000s UK prog and contemporary bass music.
