oko is laced’s sophomore EP under her new moniker, which takes a new path compared to her previous noise explorations. Drawing inspiration from ambient music, dreampop, video game and anime soundtracks, breakbeat and IDM, the music conveys a dream world where the artist tends to escape in. The EP was produced over the course of 2021 since laced’s 2020 MUTEK performance in Montreal, taking a melodic approach in contrast to her more percussive productions. oko is best consumed under a pile of warm blankets or under the rain, its energy being one of catharsis, contemplation, healing and dreaming.

@Traumgarten, a label operating out of Den Hague, finally brings us another mammoth compilation, entitled 'Virgin Forest' and filled with key Dutch and international names such as @know-va, Upsammy and Eversines, to play sequel to their stunning 2020 debut.

@audiobambino debutant @gobekli has conjured an EP both futuristic and ancient. Taking their name from Göbekli Tepe, an archaeological site considered the oldest place of worship yet discovered, ‘Clovis’ is as much informed by the harsh climate of the time as ancient religious practices long forgotten.

Somewhere between euphoric braindance ritual and bass mutation, opening track ‘Highground’ arrives suspended in a state of frenetic flux. Direct IDM torque punctuated with vocal chops and plenty of synthetic bird call.

Timesaver is Xen Model’s third full length album and second release on the Causal Chain imprint. The 9-track LP stays true to the duo’s eccentric sound while delving into the introspective side of their productions. Club-focused head nodders “Pin Cycle”, “Face Forward”, and “Controller” accompany key tracks like “Arm’s Edge Reach” and “Grip Dial”, which channel the duo’s affinity for ambient music. “A Bright Star” spotlights a catchy guitar hook and features close collaborator 11ai. Xen Model’s signature play on halftime structure is engaged in bass-heavy cuts “Ripstream” and “Local Group”. The album comes to a close with a radio edit of their previously released track “Lurch”, which clusters the duo’s myriad styles and influences in an encapsulating statement of the Xen Model sound.

Erwan Sene shares 'Tilt', the first single from the upcoming full-length album 'JUnQ' out via PAN on April 14th.

JUnQ, or the Journal of Unsolved Questions, is modeled on a parallel exercise: to sketch music and to score sculptures. Part exhibition, part book and part album release, JUnQ seeks to propose a collaborative language that binds the algorithmic needs of an artificial pop star to the performance of the artist himself. Boundaries between reality and artifice are blurred in a continuous chain of confrontation and sublimation, wherein a romance between analog evolution and digital experimentation is born.
