Bouquet. Records features Olive T. for their sixth EP release on vinyl to infuse their 2021 roster with the desired verve and energy that dormant club kids are thirsting for.

Releasing in early summer, the energetic dance tracks herald a return to the dance floor, uplifted by soul-stirring synthesizer orchestral strings. The native New Yorker and scene fixture was influenced by 90’s house, inspired by Raze, Deee-lite, Green Velvet, and smooth disco flows. The ascension sensation of “Goin Up” builds on familiar house grooves with digital synths and a thoughtful utilization of today’s technology.

Known to play a range spanning hip hop to club, jazz to funk, disco to garage, and more, Olive T has DJ’d countless venues and over international airwaves. An early exposure to house and techno, combined with a wide span of diverse musical taste, shaped her unique style. In 2020 she started her own 2 hour radio show on The Lot Radio.
Olive T worked with the up and coming producer Tiro! due to her admiration of his use of traditional sounds of the 90’s era, sensing he also listened prolifically to 90’s house and techno. Tiro!’s remix of “This Is A Bop” adds organic flare to the original. A long-time fan of Matt Karmil, she invited him to remix “Opaque.” He flips the track upside down to reveal a different, but still vibrant interpretation, with his technical approach to remixing.

Straight from the south coast of UK to Munich, Daniel Landi joins Dance Petrol Records with three club ready cuts! Already proving himself on ’W&O Street Tracks’, he goes into full throttle delivering the EP ’Nice To Know You’ on the german imprint. Kicking off with the title giving deep house anthem, ’Nice To Know You’ sets the tone of the EP with crunchy drums, complex synthetic sounds and joyfull vocals! Seamlessly going between the sounds, weaving it together into a captivating soundscape that just keeps on evolving! Going even deeper with the second cut, ‚Is It Wrong To Be Hopeful‘, organic drums and dubby efx join the game. Some joyful call and response between the already established arps and a cheeky basslines pulls you even further into Passerines sonical realm, peaking with synthetic frenzy in the breakdown, leaving you absolutely no room to escape!
The third and last track ’Stitched To Fabric’, closes off the EP and goes straight to business where the other two tunes left off. Building on a base of plucky bassline sounds, sneaky vocal bits and stereo shenenigans on the chords, Passerines just keeps on adding new bits to the soundscape, masterfully crafting a complex sonical picture, to close off the package of pure house goodness to:

PREMIERE: Passerines - Stitched To Fabric [Dance Petrol Records]

Following a debut EP release on Brazilian record label Yellow Island Records and a hypno-house debut album on colourful L.A imprint 100% Silk, California producer Etari readies four air-fresh cuts of club melodia designed for those deep moments in the dance on Running Out Of Steam.

Aesthetics of both artist and label are a heaven-made match; favouring melodic grooves and broken-beats that trigger blissed-out experiences both spiritual and physical. ‘Chemistry’ makes use of broken Baltimore rhythms and blends them with warped, supernatural vocals, feeding into both worlds of melancholy and paradise.

‘Cinnamon Spice’ maintains the tempo with a fairy-light cut of footwork-electro – a sequence that begs to be lost in, angelic strobes of light beaming onto a looping trip cinematic sound – before the lo-fi house rhythms of ‘Lavender Luv’ cast our minds back to a simpler time when the sun was setting and the sand was still warm between our toes.

‘Sweet Pea’ completes the release with a wubby piece of blissful Balearic; no sudden movements, swaying in the turquoise vibe as teardrops roll into the ocean.

The noise was bellowing and he could feel the pressure bubbling within the small cabin as the train whizzed beneath the murky depths of the city. The underground was no place to spend a comedown let alone at rush hour as the busy people of the day to day world moved here and there with little care for pleasantries. He took his seat in the packed carriage and began to wonder where he might end at the last stop. The end of the line was coming, this much was clear. 

The Healing Company are set to reissue a piece of rave gold in the form of Automation's "Comedown". It comes accompanied with some finely tuned remixes of which Adesse Versions' is one.

Jad & The joins the label on the A1 with a slow mo meditation full of warm pads and a string of broken beats on “X-Treme Drum”. The A2 comes from Lehults head chef, Lucky Charmz, with a 150bpm drum and bass inspired electro cut. Rolling low subs with a UK feel. Something different.

The B side invites Sid Quirk, who recently featured on BP009 under other alias Keppel, this time with his 88bpm haunting original vocals, packed between dark percussions and twisted soundscapes on “B_F L_R”, on the Hessle feel. Closing up the release, the B2 welcomes back Filip Szostak to the fold, this time bringing a drum heavy breakbeat DJ Tool that closes proceedings with energy and a suited transition for shifting moods on the dance floor.

Furious Frank returns to Butter Sessions with 'Ahora Sí'. The fully fledged house anthem is the result of a cross-continental collaboration with Barcelona based vocalist and producer Ivy Barkakati.

We're treated to four versions of 'Ahora Sí', all tested and ready for the dance floor and those special moments! Kicking it off, Frank delivers his "Original Acid Mix". A deep, squelchy lurker with nods to late 80's and 90's house music, peaking with thick piano chords and Barkakati's deep Spanish vocals. On the 'Sunrise' mix, the piano and chords become the focus and set the mood for an uplifting journey, bolstered by the raw thump and jack of the drum machines.

The flip side see's Barcelona based "IVAN" emerge with their version. The duo made up of Ivy Barkakati and Phran of Klasse Wrecks fame slow things down a touch, mangle the chords and inject the rhythm with flattering top-drawer percussion. Vancouver native D. Tiffany rounds the EP off with sub-heavy bass drops, hi-tek rhythms, euphoric vocal slithers and more stingin' acidic vibes.

A2. Ahora Sí (Frank's Sunrise Mix)

There was a strange, mysterious object which floated in the dense night sky. It flashed an electric green, illuminous and weird amidst a backdrop of delicate stars. It left a lot to the imagination - what was inside? Who was in flight? Were these creatures from the great beyond? It had been a long time since they'd last seen a UFO around these parts, not since the hot and heavy summer nights of the sixties. Then again, who knew what they'd seen way back then in the days of old. It was but a blur to him, a psychedelic haven of rage and madness.

A little while back we featured a mix from the ever playful musician and producer Your Planet Is Next. A Scandinavian superhero of sorts who has come to save the day from snobby enthusiasts and those who take life too seriously. He appears on a new split EP for Warning Records with a track called "UFO".

This is a tale of two firsts, our first release on Tight Chest and also Will Penn’s debut. We found ‘Stijl’ mutating in a vortex somewhere between a rave flyer and an EMU-6400 ULTRA. The tune blends elements of old school Jungle, breaks and techno. This track offers a
chance to get a little introspective in places with eerie dialog and moody pads, while also being somewhat wily and relentless. ‘Try Not To Worry (Nothing Is Easy)’ is a B-side oozing lush textures and exuberant lead lines, glued together by tight breaks and warm subs. This track is an ode to better times. There are rumours it was formed on the Express ‘93 service from Kyoto to London.
The ‘Stijl ‘Night Night Mix’ is a rework that has been flipped and slowed right down with a steady groove and ghostly textures. Combined with this are vocals that sound like a diary entry being
spoken over the tannoy of a passenger plane flying over the dystopian swamplands. All the tracks were written and recorded in 2019 and are some of the first produced by Will Penn. We wanted to capture the rawness before he loses his beginner's edge and sells his soul to the internet in exchange for the next ‘level up’ in the production game. Hold On, Tight Chest !

As a label, E-Beamz has been on a roll of late. Following well-spun releases from Borai & Denham Audio, Lake Haze and Bluematter, their latest is a two-tracker from Zoo Look, a London-based production and DJ duo comprised of two old friends who have been releasing music together since 2011. With their name borrowed from a classic Jean Michel Jarre record, the pair are united by a love of production and playing out bangers, and ‘Direct Contact / Ravioli Ocean’ is an excellently-named 12″ of two break-driven slammers. The former cut, which we’re premiering below, is backed by a thudding bassline with some acid flavoured synth goodness for some serious dancefloor appeal.

The overwhelming sensations of physical, social, and emotional detention painted the horizon with a nostalgic hue..."so we felt a certain type of nostalgia for this particular future..." And now, in their sets and performances, Jonny Sriraxa and LuciB aim to transmit the entirety of that accumulated energy through rhythms oriented towards the dance floor--evoking reflection through motion-- and flowing across a variety of genres, histories, and influences that fuse the old, new, and still-evolving.
