The fourth installment of Sonic Textures series is going to enlighten once more the most cuttin' edge artists in the electronics scene: 
Lair, artist, singer, compose and producer puts elements of ritual, mysticism, deep listening, meditation and energy work,  expressed through the lens of textured and layered electronic music derived from vocal samples; 
Visceral, densely textured, and intricately programmed, Swarm Intelligence’s distinctive sound comes from almost a decade of releases, spanning multiple genres and tempos; 
6SISS, half of Motive Power (47 Records) goes through progressive cinematronica to gritty industrial warehouse techno layered with some drama; 
Nemrac, Syncretism co-founder, shows his club-oriented approach in a visceral and incisive representation of darkness, skimming through Techno, Industrial, syncopated rhythms and noir atmospheres; 
Voicedrone, FOLD. founder in London, true analogue warrior and bastion of the European rave culture ensure a powerful closing of this release. 

"Sonic Textures" is the turbulent, dissonant voice speaking for eccentric artists with different influences and backgrounds. 
The fourth Various Artists Compilation presented by Syncretism gathers together several composition approaches, bringing a new paradigm of sonic textures and unexpected arrangements.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from 2 collaborating artists Catartsis & Ōtone. "Springs" comes off as a single on Berlin based ygam. 

As a foretaste of ygam's future publications, Catartsis & Ōtone share the single "Springs", a fizzy industrial techno track originally made in 2018 by altering and fusing an array of metal coil springs recordings. Although based on a steady 4-to-the-floor kick pattern, the track plays with the spiralling and unpredictable nature of the recordings' source to create a noisy and frisky piece of club-oriented music.

Subsequent to their formidable collabo with Max Delius a few months prior, Andreas Schuller and Jay Nagel deliver the next tracks for RFR. “Bionic Jelly” still moves in style within the croudian sound biotope, yet places the tooly aspect a little bit more in the foreground.

“It’s a match” starts restrainedly with dubby breakbeats, being driven forward by echoes and reverb. Rattling percussions jump on the sonic carpet and little by little increase the intensity of this funky opener. Yep, that fits!

„Stomache Grind“ comes around the corner way more relaxed than its title may suggest. Nothing indigestive is presented here, in contrary a digestif made of all the ingredients which crouds are famous for: Melody, broken beats, elaborately composed dub patterns and a dose of finesse.

Heavy 90s vibes in the final track of this EP. Kinda reminiscent of Luke Vibert in his best Rephlex days. Minimal, interlaced and mystical. “Shifting Space” not only moves space, but also time. Because this is what’s needed in order to enjoy the true depth of this track.

'The Collective Impact' is a compilation double vinyl LP from Berlin's @SubvertedScene label and party-series. The second project of such a size on the label, it assumes the same ethos that surrounds everything Subverted do: promoting non-binary, trans and female identifying artists working in the field of industrial techno, including @Otonenoto.

Turning a new chapter with a new alias, techno stalwart Anthony Parasole delivers his FULL EFX project. The New York City artist known for his work on OsGut Ton, Dekmantel, and his own imprint The Corner, now makes his debut on L.I.E.S. Records.

While the backbone of this project is rooted in the structural ideas of traditional techno, we now hear Parasole expand on his past sound in a refined manner with acute attention to detail throughout these new productions. Most notably is the repeated use of processed "vocals" on the recording which serves a psychedelic element that drives many of the tracks with haunting results. Tempos push and pull from lightspeed 140 bpm club cuts to 89 bpm pseudo-dancehall to the broken beat closer "Scared to Death" with its chopped vocal, sizzling percussions and industrial crunch, all tracks taking their own persona.

With FULL EFX, Parasole expertly puts forth an lp that brings together and transforms the many sounds of modern electronic music in a unique and laser focused fashion with his new vision.

The Ctrls project was founded In 2012. From the first Token records release the presence of a highly individual sonic style was apparent and his fast paced and futuristic techno based sound has now been well established with a stream of respected music on labels such as Token Records, Earwiggle and Key Vinyl. A lifelong devotee of electronic dance music, DJ’ing and live performance are central for the project. This has resulted in many involved sets at globally notable venues such as Tresor, Fold, Berghain, Khidi, Fabric, Kit Kat, Fold and Club Drugstore in addition to a residency at Copenhagen’s purest electronic dance music venue: Ved Siden Af. The future heralds a wider scope as electro, breakbeats, noise and audio visual components are incorporated, as well as the physical Future Awkward and SafeCom event series.

Two years since their first compilation, Herrensauna returns with a double 12-inch V/A showcasing eight crucial artists from the global underground.
For their second release, the Berlin-based label and queer collective look to the forefront of experimentalism in electronic music, connecting the dots between producers of varying backgrounds to provide an aesthetic statement of intent.
Driving percussion, drilling offbeats, and eerie soundscapes paint an intense picture of Herrensauna’s own events - for which they regularly collaborate with other collectives - whilst also looking outward for inspiration.
A droning, distortion-soaked new track by Kenyan Nyege Nyege resident Slikback sits alongside a maximalist electro remix of Georgian resident Salome by DJ Stingray 313, whilst Colombian producer Verraco offers up a euphoric, percussive rework of Merino and Greece’s DJ Loser + Malafama offer up a syncopated, multi-genre new cut for the peak hours.
By prioritising freedom of expression, the compilation serves as an inspiring example of collaboration beyond genre restraints, and a documentation of some of the most innovative producers of the moment.

HAVEN are back and charging in to the beginning of the year with a new catalogue number and compilation series. 
‘Vague Weight Vol. 1’ launches the black label series that will be focused on the intersection of grime, dubstep, break-beat and other UK bass flavours with the hard and gritty techno sounds the label has become renowned for.
Finally the compilation closes with an odd-ball chunk of 4-4 dub experimentation from Swedish HAVEN legend Peder Mannerfelt, following on from 2020’s ‘Ensnared’ EP. 
Four-to-the-floor kicks flow alongside half-time rhythms and grungy synth work to close out this new chapter in the HAVEN discography.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Ōtone. “Slice” comes off the new split EP, Mechanical Gesture, out August 25th on Obscuur. Catartsis & Ōtone explore, both in their collaborative and respective work, a wide spectrum of electronic and electroacoustic music with the practices of field recording and attentive listening at the core of their creative process. Inspired by musique concrète and electroacoustic sonic manipulations, they combine and alter sounds from the real, from their surroundings and from found (mainly metallic) objects. Stemming from this approach, they engage in rhythmical and textural research to elaborate a — peculiar, acousmatic and almost tangible — percussive and club-oriented music. Made using field recordings from various sources, the main one being an industrial paper cutting machine, “Slice” is a pummeling rhythmic work that cuts deeper than it sounds.
