Opening with haunting spoken word layered over intricate drum grooves and distant vocal textures, "What Once Was"gradually builds into a lush, melodic groove — where the bassline anchors the listener in the present while the atmosphere floats somewhere between past and possibility. The vocals, written and recorded with collaborator Sarah, unfold like a fading memory, pulling listeners into a kaleidoscope of emotion, vulnerability, and quiet strength. Rooted in Melodic House & Techno, Night Talk’s sonic world continues to explore the intersection of personal storytelling and dancefloor introspection. Today we present the Samo DJ and Pedrodollar killer rework of the title-track, exclusively available on the digital version. Opening with spiralling synths in form of headphase to then unfold a deep-carved and textured melody riding along jaunty bass moves and tribal drums, the track makes for a slick Janus-faced pumper.

Nature documentaries of the 1970s used synthesizer music to score messages about species endangerment and environmental disaster prevention. Electronic instrumentation was in itself an ominous warning of the reckless advancement of technology and an effort to audition a utopian harmony between people and machines and nature. 

Photay’s debut full-length ​Onism​ inherits the same historical tension in an age of climate change and social media addiction. It is also a reflection of personal conditions, a meditation on place, community, and its creator’s own embodied history. The word ‘onism,’ invented by John Koenig, means the frustration of being stuck in just one body that inhabits only one place at a time. 

To grasp onism is to be apprised of how little of the world you have experienced, are experiencing, or will ever experience. Photay (Evan Shornstein) composed ​Onism​ in the heart of Brooklyn and shrouded by the silence of national parks or on trips home to the woodlands of the Hudson Valley in between touring the urban centers of foreign countries. Scattered but connected, ​Onism’s​ music is a constellation that rips across the night sky of time, charting an emotional reality defined by sadness and joy, dread and wonder.

Mothball Record presents the first collaboration between Hysteric (Public Possession, Fuego International, Bordello A Parigi) and the prolific Shelter (from Uber, Edits du Mellah and International Feel), who are now working together as H&S. Both known for their edit skills and obscure taste, they now bring us dark balearic versions of two underground Italo killers. With strong new beat influences, and two versions of each track for added flexibility, this record can fit easily in different sets.

A new group strut their way down the Bordello boardwalk. The chameleon outfit of Yellocat, emblazoned with colour, arrive with Dans La Boutique and are true to their debut 12” title. A deep wardrobe of styles has been raided for this four track EP. First comes the latin funk of “Mi Hermano”, a lust laden duet of sweet chords and dancefloor desires, before the lounge romance of “Tout À Moi.” Language is played with, Spanish shimmies into French before English takes over the flip. “Rivals of Mars” is brash interplanetary battle. Synthlines glisten against vocoder lyrics in an epic struggle between our world and theirs. The pop-scented warmth of “Chasing the Light” leads the 12” out, a ballad of late night excess amidst the glass and steel of the city.

Super Paolo is back on his Disco Milk Records label with a cosmic, electro-infused single entitled ‘In Your Shadow’ including a remix from Italian producer Andy Bros. Super Paolo continues to embody his reputation of building tracks from scratch whilst harmonising everything together using a collection of live instruments. Paolo founded his Disco Milk imprint in 2006 and with every release he continues to explore into the realms of disco, electro, house and funk brought together under one roof previously supported by the likes of The Black Madonna, Justin Cudmore, Jacques Renault, Eclair Fifi and more. ‘In Your Shadow’ sees Paolo invite a remix from Italy’s Andy Bros which picked up plays from Adam Port, Solomun and Blackbox and Jamie Jones on Pete Tong’s History of House episode on BBC Radio 1 ‘In Your Shadow’ begins with zappy synth shoots, revolving electro flavours and infectious vocals keeping eccentric energy flowing until Andy Bros who has previous releases on Diynamic, Chapter 23, FFRR and more rounds off the pack with a chuggy, italo-disco remix of ‘In Your Shadow’ laying focus on cosmic oscillations, otherworldly atmospheres and uplifting, swirling melodies peppered with undulating euphoria. Born and raised in Belo Horizonte, Brasil – based in Barcelona. 

DJ and sound designer Artur has been crafting immersive sonic experiences since 1998. Starting his career with a deep passion for Drum'n'Bass and Big Beats, his journey behind the decks has seen him evolve into a versatile artist who effortlessly blends a wide spectrum of genres. From electronic to global sounds, his sets are a rhythmic exploration of percussive textures and syncopated beats that reflect his rich musical background.

As a percussionist, Artur is deeply rooted in the traditions of samba and other Brazilian rhythms, which are integral to his creative process. His ability to seamlessly fuse these dynamic influences into his mixes sets him apart, offering an eclectic sound that’s both intricate and infectious. With over two decades of experience, he continues to innovate, delivering sets that transcend boundaries and connect with audiences on a primal level, driven by the universal language of rhythm.
