After a chaotic year the world seems to slowly open up again. To celebrate the occasion, @odradio welcomes you to Bay City. This metropole is situated on a fabled tropical archipelago, which to this day has remained undiscovered. Rumored to be somewhere in the Pacific, from the few visitors who made it there we know that it’s an isolated place, completely unaffected by the hectic, outside world. A place where time seems to move more slowly, as is reflected by the music broadcasted by the island’s most popular radio station: house, vaporwave, disco, fusion, yacht rock, lounge and smooth jazz - all are genres that are frequently heard on ODR.

This 12-track VA also reflects that mellow, yet cheerful Bay City spirit: It’s a compilation of exotic, punchy and melancholic tunes, at all times best enjoyed at the pool or beach.

Today she'd decided enough was enough. Too much time had been wasted on unworthy people; too much brain power invested in things beyond her control. Her anger at the world was more than justified but for a as long as she could remember she'd let it consume her everyday life. There was only so much she could do, only so much she could say; sitting with the feeling of being helpless was simply an inevitability she had to deal with. It was time she vanquished her angst.

Cosmic party starters and music platform Viscera took their first steps into the label world last year with the release of their first Galactic Service Broadcasting compilation. A sophomore comp followed, continuing their journey into the 'furthest reaches of the dance-floor cosmos', and now they're gearing up for their first digital EP: a batch of low slung, psychedelic creations from Jakarta-based producer Komodo.

Guitar stabs, acid lines and dub-wise rhythms form the basis of the release, which comes complete with remixes from Club Blanco boss Chez De Milo and the inimitable Jonny Rock who brings his signature oddball touch to twist the original into a mind-expanding re-dub.

Distant Hawaii kicks into gear for the second half of 2016 with our first Transatlantic artist joining in the shape of immense production and DJ talent, Garrett David. 

Already a prominent figure in the Windy City scene via his residency at Smart Bar and working as A&R and in-house buyer at Gramaphone Records; Garrett's talents extend even further, right back to the lab, to the deep studio from whence all music grows. 

His Chicago-tinged-with-Detroit blend of clean, yet warm and occasionally raw bumpin' house tracks showcase a kaleidoscope of grooves backed by heavy-seated drum programming and glacial, almost-interspatial padwork. 

'Octagon Blues' is built on a bedrock of steadily ascending Juno throbs, that climb higher and higher over skittering, pebble-dashed percussion and bristle with high end synth-whistling by the close. 

'Power Up' shifts up the tempo and velocity with a proper kickin' fast groove and undulating Omar S-esque bass-line sequences aimed squarely at the heart of the Sunday night dance. 

Flipping over the 12", 'Remedy' comes glowing into life through soft pad caressing and a steady 5am melancholia bass-line. Touches of a light rain smack the windshield, preceding a wonky and portamento'd melodic surprise. The shyer, mysterious cousin of 'Power Up'. 

The closer, but this easily could have been the opener, 'Healing Channel' is exactly that. An instant transportation to a sole experience in the flotation tank. An isolated yet comforting zone of inner peace, only broken by a steady live drum groove, peppered with delay from the inner walls of the listeners water-based sanctuary.

The river roared as the water cascaded rapidly down the mountain side, in the midst of the jungle the rain could be heard pattering against the leafy ceiling. A storm was coming, a thunderous beast which might bring struggle and strife to the people of the region. It was as if someone were banging a great drum in the sky, an echoing reverb with a weighty clap and the boom of heat. It was an Amazon dub, a rumbling power with the ability to bring ruin and  chaos. All the animals looked for shelter from the roaring storm in the bitter hope that they might see the glow of daylight once more...

General P.D.C is the monniker of HLM38, he returns with a dub infused beast for French label Notte Brigante alongside a deep, exotic remix from the Beesmunt Soundsystem guys.

The EP is an intriguing venture through rugged slow moving electronics with a punkish edge.
