There is beauty in rottenness. The decay of withered flowers shows us the intimate closeness between caducity, death, and beauty. The atmospheres generated by toxic plants, with the poisons we inhale, are environments of fantasy, hypnotic, where we release our most intimate desires. In a fantasy anything can happen, even what we long for the most.

'Las Flores Del Mal' are the flowers of death, but they are also the rotten, imperfect, hard flowers that embody a fecund and beautiful force. It is in the tension between darkness and beauty, in the darkest moments of life, that the most beautiful can bloom. From the Baudelairean-decadentist motif of Las flores del mal to the darker calm of a Lullaby, which does not want to let us sleep, this EP is tense between death and resurrection. Between evil and what could blossom from it.

BIO
Hailing from Paris with Bulgarian roots, Karassimeon is obsessed with Disco and EBM, hence his motto “Glitter & Leather”. He has released a string of tracks on Toulouse based label Ritmo Fatale in 2023, delivering his distinctive blend of Cold Wave, EBM and Italo. Beyond the initial support he was granted by Kendal and Pablo Bozzi, his productions are gathering growing support in the scene by the likes of Marie Davidson, Curses, David Carretta, Avalon Emerson and Jennifer Cardini. 2024 will see him expand his production footprint, with releases on labels such as Ritmo Fatale, Pinkman, and Ombra International.

Relentlessly researching new soundscapes in his studio, Karassimeon premiered his live electronic show in November 2023 and will deliver it on tour in 2024. Stay tuned! 
This guest mix features some of his favorite records from early 80s to early 90s, tunes which have inspired him a lot as a producer and as a DJ.

Laurine Philippe grew up in Antwerp and began her musical journey 20 years ago as a classical violinist. Today she focuses on Dark Disco & Techno, occasionally showing her love for vinyl with her Italo House records. Laurine is part of the Mitte der Gesellschaft collective and a resident at Tanzhaus West. Furthermore, she curates “Landhaus Offenbach”, a weekly video podcast on YouTube. Along with Julia Meier, Laurine established FLINTA community and event series “clubcherry” to unite newcomers and offer FLINTA people a safer space within the local electronic music scene.

For the 17th entry in the Fun Fun Mix series, we present She Teiks, electronic duo from Córdoba with a very clear objective: the dance floor. Maria Paz and Belén, who consider the female presence to be essential on stage, are well known for their super-energetic music, both in their presentations as djs, as well as in live format.

Fun Fun Mix 17 - She Teiks

InVertida -the alias under which Violeta Alegre is known- is a DJ, producer and trans activist based in Buenos Aires. The musical journey she proposes does not have a defined genre, since her music sets include a rich variety of Techno, EBM, Dark Disco, Indie Dance, among others. However, no matter the style, you can take it for granted that the dance floor will be on fire.

 

In recent years she has passed through innumerable DJ booths in Buenos Aires and Argentina such as the mythical "Dengue Dancing" party in her beginnings in 2018, the costume party annually organised by the renowned designer Alejandro Ros, "Fun Fun" Party -produced by DJs Pareja-, Trabestia, Missa, Loca, Delicia Techno Pride and several activism street parties. Additionally, she is currently resident of the FaGot Party and at Espacio Ro and Neu Kultur Haus nightclubs.

 

Since 2021, she has been producing the cycle of itinerant parties of the Buenos Aires underground music scene called "Rizoma", wich is based at Niceto Club and proposes to connect us through the music in a fun, loving, flying and dissident way.
