Having grown up surrounded by music from an early age, Roland began to collect records in the late 80’s - new wave, hip hop, disco, ska and reggae. Around the same time, he was introduced to the sounds of house music which led to many late-night adventures in Toronto’s budding warehouse and afterhours scene.  From that developed a fascination with DJ culture and obsession with music.  

Over the past 3 decades, Roland has touched on the whole spectrum of dance music and developed his own unique style, which is firmly planted between the realms of disco, house and techno.  Roland has rocked dancefloors in a number of cities around the world and, as a promoter, continues to shine a light on under-the-radar international talent in Toronto.

Starting out as an online shop and reissue label (Invisible City Editions), the brand has expanded over the years with a Toronto based brick-and-mortar shop (Invisible City Record Shop), online community radio (Invisible City Radio), and event series (Invisible City Presents). With a focus on the overlooked, cross-over genre fluidity, and often questionable music, Invisible City is about building community and having a good time.
