Bringing his signature sound to Crosstown Rebels, delightfully unconventional producer SIS delivers his third release on the label, The Blind Side. Hot on the heels of his Boabab album on Mobilee, Rodriguez Jr. delivers a stunning remix on the B-side.

The Blind Side is set to soundtrack the summer, an incredibly infectious track with its exotic and intricate drum workouts and alluring vocal cuts. On the flip, Rodriguez Jr. brings in deep pads, uplifting melodic keys and a storming piano lines for a whole new take on the original.

Taking his artistic enthusiasm from his Turkish father, SIS grew up in Berlin surrounded by music. Following a series of releases on Nick Curly’s Cecille, Ricardo Villalobos who loved his track Trompeta so much that he released it on his boutique label picked up the German producer Sei es Drum in 2008. His success of Trompeta led to an avalanche of recognition, Groove Magazine and ‘Newcomer of the Year’ by Raveline Mag named him both ‘Producer of the Year’. In 2011 SIS launched his own label Cocolino where he released his debut three-part album Dejame.

Olivier Mateu aka Rodriguez Jr. grew up in the south of France and moved to Paris as a young adult and soon formed the electro group The Youngsters. Signed by Laurent Garnier to F Communications, the duo released two albums and a string of successful singles. Focusing on a different alias, Rodriguez Jr. gave Olivier the freedom to run with his creativity, which can be seen in his acclaimed live shows.

Following on from a hectic summer touring across the globe, NY producer Joeski returns to the studio to create his next release, due on Crosstown Rebels in 2018.

The EP unfolds with the original version of I Want You - a fierce, driving beat is juxtaposed alongside the sensual and smouldering vocal as the bassline rumbles on. Pure 4am, fist pumping pleasure. The flip side introduces the disco mix of the title track. But don’t let the ‘disco’ lull you into a false sense of security. The track is fuelled by intense industrial sounding smashes and an abundance of layers that creep ever closer.

A founding member of NYC’s The Chocolate Factory DJ Collective, Joeski has been a staple in the underground scene in New York since 1991, holding down a residency at the city’s famed nightclub- Roxy. He’s played alongside the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Louis Vega and Roger Sanchez. His career has seen him release on Electrik Soul, Siesta, Chez and Camouflage as well as launching his own imprint Maya Records in 2001. This year, the prolific producer has juggled a jam-packed touring schedule taking in Australia, New Zealand, South America and Europe, as well as Ibiza for Do Not Sleep and Misfits.

Coming in fresh for the summer season with their third outing on Hive Audio is the Swiss duo named Sous Sol with a follow up to their massive „Taonga EP“. Bringing forth two new original tracks and a remix by Romanian electronic music staple Mihai Popoviciu, their new release the „Dizzy Rhythm EP“, fully lives up the pairings high quality standards and is soon to be heard on a dancefloor near you.

Opening with the title track „Dizzy Rhythm“ Sous Sol are employing a deep, tribalistic vibe for a start,  fusing intricate, complex percussion lines with a seductive TechHouse groove and masterly crafted synth arrangements bringing forth a well balanced amount of mystique and drive ideal for intimate late settings as well as epic moments throughout large scale sunrise sessions.

On a remix tip for „Dizzy Rhythm“ is no-one less than Mihai Popoviciu. The Romanian Techno legend who's left a trail of releases on high quality labels like International Deejay Gigolo, Poker Flat Recordings, Bedrock Records and many more over the years turns towards a more dancefloor focused  approach in his rework, strips things down a little, adds quite a distinct, stoic hi-hat whilst staying true to a certain, dreamlike and well trance inducing feel for an ultimate lift-off.

Finally „Hazy Vision“ sees Sous Sol on a well funky tip, once again bringing forth masterly crafted percussion vibes alongside a classic uplifting pad motif harking back to a mid-90s House vibe accompanied by large scale build-ups and the duos trademark mysticism, all falling into place to channel dancefloor energies towards a huge, and surely inevitable, climax.

One of the most consistently exciting talents in today’s underground scene, this Nottingham-born producer has come on leaps and bounds since he spent his first ravey days dancing in some of the UK’s most (in)famous music factories. The ‘here and now’ sees him touring the world under the guise of Inxec – a mysterious moniker equalled only by the curious spells he binds with his provocative, intoxicating and idiosyncratic brand of music. 

If only Robin Hood could have experienced the mesmeric drone emanating from one of Nottingham’s most legendary venues: The Bomb. In the early 90s, this proved an allure too irresistible for Inxec. This was his calling. Tyrant residents, such as Sasha and his Merry Men Craig Richards and Lee Burridge, wrote their own folklore that would go down in Nottingham’s history. It would also consume him from the very beginning. Little did he know that in only a few years, he would be writing a tale of his very own. 

Later, after flirting with production in its numerous formats, gifted with the opportunity to play ‘live’. Under his first more-progressive alter ego, Sound Alliance, he embraced this opportunity and a star was born. It was at this crossroads that he met Matt Tolfrey – an encounter that blossomed friendship and, later down the line, a hugely successful production partnership. With this, new opportunities were beckoning. Inxec was now in the reckoning. 

In 2006 Inxec began a love affair with Jay Haze’s imprint, Contexterrior, where he released five futuregasmic releases for the forward-thinking label. And Inxec remixes on labels such as Tuning Spork, Stock 5, Barraca and Esperanza were featuring in the playlists of the globe’s finest. He had now been acquainted with the world stage – he loved it. The feeling was mutual.   This provided added kudos for the Inxec/Tolfrey powerhouse. Releases on Murmur, Sven Vath’s Cocoon recordings and Radioslave’s Rekids were the inevitabilities of this success. It was plain to see that the natural DJ in Tolfrey helped Inxec develop an increasingly stripped dancefloor-destined sound. Remixes followed for the likes of CR2, Culprit, Kismet, Great Stuff and Renaissance to name but a few.
 
Since then Inxec has collaborated with Droog, Mark Chambers, Leks and most recently, Mark Jenkyns, which has culminated in releases for Crosstown Rebels, Culprit, Last Night on Earth, Leftroom and Get Physical – the list is endless. It therefore comes as no surprise that he has since been invited to play some of the world’s most famous parties ranging from Harry Klein (Munich) and the Panorama Bar (Berlin) to Eleven (Tokyo) and Fabric (London). 

With more originals and collaborations expected in 2015, it will be without a doubt another year of stellar proportions for this lofty producer.
