Merca Bae Presents: Down Theory, the second instalment in the label’s artist-led curation series, arriving 13th November. Curated by Merca Bae, the compilation delves into the landscape of Downtempo Bass music, intertwining between Dancehall, Tarraxo, Breaks, and Reggaeton.

Through this release, Merca Bae spotlights the wide scope of Downtempo music and its continued presence across global underground scenes. Over the past few years, club music has trended toward higher BPMs and relentless, fast-paced energy, but Down Theory offers a space to explore slower, weightier & sexier rhythms as a way to embrace slower, bass-driven music in a club environment.

The project features contributions from Chá Di Lirian, Grindalf, and Entrañas, alongside established producers styn and Faraonika, and introduces Unayo and Tempo Fino, who debut their first productions under new aliases.

Down Theory offers a cohesive yet wide-ranging snapshot of contemporary low-end experimentation.
