I have always loved long progressive tracks from the likes of BT, Sunday Club and Sasha who've have made tracks well over 10 minutes. You don't hear that much anymore and I was wondering why is that..? I ended up thinking that it's the 2014 EDM culture which has made DJs so visible stage performers that (at least in DJs' heads) there is a need to do something actively when playing and that has lead into two minute quick mixing and sets loaded with mashups. 

Don't get me wrong: I understand that in a big room/festival setting that works very well, but I also believe that many people still enjoy longer progressions and tracks with many parts flowing seamlessly from one to another. I wanted to try to make a track like that: epic intro, deep & groovy build up part, emotive breakdown, driving D part, uplifting peak moment and percussion driven outdo. Hope you like it :)

At this year's ADE something very special was born. On October 18th, at the height of Amsterdam'sannual EDM takeover, dance pioneer Solarstone showcased his new audio axiom. A roots return forthe genre, his is a rally against inorganic and trend-driven Trance, a rediscovery of what drew somany to the genre's flame. The reclamation has started: the code word is "Pure Trance".

With its musical fire still burning bright, it now sees 4 brand new remakes come to life. Richard Mowatt aka Solarstone is responsible for some of the biggest classics in EDM history. The UK producer/DJ didn’t only bring us the seminal classics ‘Solarcoaster, ‘Like A Waterfall’ and ‘Jump The Next Train’ plus more recent anthems 'The Spell', 'Fireisland' & 'Jewel; he’s also one of the masterminds (together with Andy Bury) behind ‘Seven Cities’ - an all-time favourite that won’t fade anytime soon. 

For 2013, Solarstone himself has given it a #PureTrance upgrade - his 'Pure' Mix injecting that extra push of energy and bass-work. Italian producers Antillas & Dankann go full out on feel-good, giving it that playful stir of prog-house, without losing its original vibe. 

Polish producer Thomas Datt on the other hand, kept his focus on the uplifting and trancey side of ‘Seven Cities’, providing a solid remix for the trance junkies - as does Romania's Almar who pulls no punches with his rousing, melodic mix.
