Sam Bottoni was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the US and has been drawn to UK-inspired sounds since the late ‘90s. He began his DJ career by playing vinyl in small venues and parties in downtown Milwaukee while dabbling in music production. After moving to Chicago in 2000 to study music at DePaul University, DJing became a regular part of weekend life, including supporting international headliners. Living blocks away from Gramaphone Records, crate-digging was a passion. In 2004, he took another step in his music career and moved to Miami, Florida to earn a Masters Degree in Electronic Music Composition from the University of Miami Frost School of Music. Putting DJing aside for several years, he dove into generative music synthesis and performance utilizing Max/MSP, CSound, and Reaktor. After moving back to Wisconsin, Sam continued to hone his skills creating digital music. He has since gone back to his roots and first love, DJing in his home state and creating music combining new and classic techniques that often hark back to the golden age of UK breaks and jungle. Sam exploded onto the breaks circuit with two signed releases in 2022 including a debut work with @yukumusic and shows no sign of slowing down any time soon.
