The brainchild of David E. Lodge, former songwriter and drummer for chart-topping Irish rock band, mike got spiked, Ion Sea sees the multi-instrumentalist emerge from the deep shadows and embrace the limelight. 

Despite amassing some 500,000 international touring miles, and releasing two critically acclaimed albums, mike got spiked called it a day in 2012, and Lodge has spent the intervening years ensconced in a Los Angeles studio refining the many ingredients that coalesce in this new concoction. 

A quirky electro-tribal rock menagerie, Ion Sea retains the skewed eccentricity and pop sensibilities of the erstwhile schizo quartet MGS, but adds a depth and soulfulness that some would argue was previously missing from the music. 

Like his hero, Dave Grohl before him, Lodge has made the transition from sticks man to front man appear ludicrously simplistic and in so doing has highlighted the truly expansive nature of his talent. 

On stage, this one man show straight out of Dublin immerses himself in a labyrinthine landscape of cables, loop stations, stomp boxes and samplers. Lodge is laser focused and determined to try a different tack and an ardent community of followers and like-minded creative types have flocked to his side to hear him preach, and add their voices.
