What started as a chilly overcast Sunday afternoon in San Francisco this summer, blossomed into a full sunny dance floor, filled with good vibes and smiles. This is one of those extended sets where we really just flowed, went up, down, left, right, center, and back around again musically. German duo andhim serve up our next Foxcast ahead of their performance during this year's Cityfox Halloween.

andhim are a DJ and producer duo founded by Simon Haehnel & Tobias Müller. Since their start in 2010, they have published numerous songs and remixes and worked with artists such as Diplo, Rüfüs du Sol or Theophilus London on an internationally successful level.

With residencies in New York, Los Angeles, London and Berlin, they are among the most successful DJ duos in the scene. Over the last decade, andhim have manifested their signature sound without any boundaries in expressing themselves on a creative level. They have cultivated an exceptionally loyal fan base of musical lovers all over the world.

andhim founded their own label Superfriends Records in 2016 which captures a refined and contagiously unique electronic sound. It is an outlet for the duo’s most ambitious ideas. Among others, Artists like Roman Flügel or Acid Pauli released on the label.

Playing on the Robot Heart bus at Burning Man is a dream I’ll never get tired of living. Robot Heart is a constant source of inspiration to me and so many others! Grateful for the opportunity to play on the bus again. 

This year (2024), my set time was Monday Morning at 7:00 am so I wanted to prepare something special for the beginning of an unforgettable week. 

I decided to play a live set filled with most of the Edits/Remixes I’ve made along the years (for example: Edits/Remixes I’ve made of Alice Coltrane, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Michelle Gurevich, Acid Pauli, Nicolas Jaar, Fred Again, etc…). 

I honestly couldn’t be happier with the result of this experiment!

The pair behind the Ouïe label, Acid Pauli & Nico Stojan, collaborate again on a new release on their own label - Vola. 

The title track fits perfectly with their long-established signature sound of intimate and psychedelic electronic music for the more leftfield leaning music lovers. 

This track features a spongy rhythm, accompanying samples seemingly draw from far and wide, creating a lush and meditative feeling. 

The second track, Tensione, builds from the same sound palette but incorporates more elements, from modular arpeggiators to tasteful pads.

Con due sacchi di vinili in mano, la pioggia ha smesso di cadere pochi istanti prima dell'inizio della mia esibizione, così ho potuto mostrare uno spaccato delle mie influenze, dei miei stati d'animo e dei miei groove che contano per me. Dalla colonna sonora iniziale di Ennio Morricone ai ritmi vibranti di Surprise Chef, sono riuscito a includere anche del materiale inedito. Sono felice di poter condividere questa registrazione speciale. Grazie a Cecilia, Raphaele e il team dell'Ambasciata - particolarmente L'Ambasciatore Bucci.

It's been my great honor to have been asked to perform at the terrace opening of the Italian Embassy here in Berlin. Life is an unforeseen spin of situations sometimes. Packed with two bags of vinyl, the rain stopped just a few moments before my performance started and so I could show a cross-section of my influences, moods and grooves that matter to me. From the opening score of Ennio Morricone to the buzzing beats of Surprise Chef, I managed to include some unreleased material as well. Glad to be able to share this special recording with you. Thanks to Cecilia, Raphaele and the whole Embassy team - especially the ambassador Bucci.

Wait... actually, the stage itself opened with Peter Licht's beautiful track "Sonnendeck". Of course, I thought about this as well, but only "Sonnendeck" plays "Sonnendeck" on the decks.

It was an honour to play at this amazing event, which was made possible by the hard work of many great people.

It took me a while to upload this set because my MIDI controllers had many issues while playing, and fixing some things to make it listenable took longer than expected — it took me five times to export this set because of mistakes I made and longer export times due to higher plugin settings.
I'm still not really happy because I put too much pressure on myself and encountered some MIDI controller issues, but there's always room for improvement.
